COPPA is anyone who is under 13. In the United States and I believe some other portions of the world, there are laws that protect children under 13 on the internet. In order to have these people on CS, they can not post on the forums or have trade messages or anything along those lines. When they are over 13, they will be able to do the same things that you and me can do since COOPA laws will no longer affect them.

Why should you be able to adopt a newbie?: I've been on CS for one year now, and I've seen quite a few people who need help with this website. I love helping, too. And after one year, I now know a pretty bunch of things to help other people on this website. Also, I'm very active, making it possible to spend a good time helping, if I'm needed.
How often do you get on CS?: 6-7 days a week
Which categories would you like to apply for?: Languages (being Brazilian, I'm fluent in Portuguese), General Knowledge, Oekaki and Trading and Pets.
How long do you typically spend on CS each day you get on?: about three hours, usually more.
Do you agree to be helpful and polite to your newbie at all times?: yes, of course.

Why should you be able to adopt a newbie?: I know my way around CS very well, and I love helping new players learn how things work here. Like many others, I made some very bad trades when I was new, and it took me a little while to learn about the site. I wish I had had an "adopter" back then to teach me what to do and what not to do so I wouldn't have made the bad decisions I did. And so, I want to give new players the chance I didn't have. I've adopted a newbie in the past, and I'm always excited when I'm one of the first people a new player meets here. Above all, it's very rewarding and a wonderful feeling when I know I've helped them to get the most out of the site.

How often do you get on CS?: I come on every day.

  • I'm not quite fluent yet, but I do all right with German, and hanging around the German Thread in the International Board teaches me more every day. ^^

  • Yeah, I believe I'm generally knowledgeable about CS.

  • I have made thousands of forum posts and would have no trouble explaining all about it. I can also easily direct a new player to all the important threads if they can't find them or if there's a question I'm not able to answer myself.
• BBCode
  
  • I have a lot of experience with BBCode in the forums and know more advanced stuff as well as the basics. For example, I did all the coding for my signature, and I know how to make a list with layered bullets like I'm doing here.
• Trading and Pets
  
  • I have made many, many trades during my time here and understand completely how the system works, as well as how to organize pets, use the archives, etc.

How long do you typically spend on CS each day you get on?: I usually spend anywhere from half an hour to four hours or so a day, depending on how busy I am.

Do you agree to be helpful and polite to your newbie at all times?: Of course! I think I'm generally an understanding and patient person, and since, as I said before, I'm probably going to be one of the first players my newbie meets here, I would never want to represent CS by being rude or mean; first impressions are everything.
