Summer Event Discussion V.2

I came back from my walk to find that everyone's being eaten alive by scarabs.
Honestly guys? You could have at least TRIED to not upset the queen. XD

Oh well. I got some cool pets from trading in the ugly canopic jars and a few of my treasure relics.

Alright. So far, for my count of pets missing, I need:
5 camels
6 cows
3 horses
The rubble pile dog
and all of the pets from today. c: I think I'm doing pretty well, considering that I can't be on all the time. I'm also really happy about the scarab beatles! I think they look really cute as items, so I'm probably gonna try to get a ton of them extra. I'm also still missing a canopic jar and one of the scarab broaches for my item collection, but I'll hopefully get them from the rubble pile soon. <3

Im just going to say it* prepares for hate* compared to the previous summer events this one is way below par. No royal families no item quests. This the same as an easter hunt just with pretty pics. I love some of the pets we got and i think the idea of the event is great, wish the staff still had the motivation to make summer event like they used too. It just seems like they are tired of them. But major totes to the staff on the pet designs the few they gave out were pretty awesome, i think most preparation for the vent was put into the pets designs

We are less than halfway through the event time, so there is still heaps of time to collect the pets

like every event, the trade-ins are calculated carefully to ensure there is a good chance for the average user to collect everything by the end of the event. No, you won't have everything already, that's because we're less than halfway through the event. We expect the average user to have less than half of the token pets at this point.

Some people have too many map pieces now, but that's because they have been hunting for way way more hours than we expect the average user to do. Those people should trade their map pieces with other members who haven't completed the map piece trade-in, because the hunt banner mainly contains scarabs now.

The sand-pile takes an hour, but the item(s) you get from it usually equate to approximately one pet reward. That's about the same as collecting map pieces or scarabs, where you add 3 or 4 together to get one pet (20 mins times 3 or 4 is at least an hour). It might feel like it's taking longer, but you also can hunt for the banner at the same time so overall you tend to collect enough parts to get about 1 - 2 pets per hour. If you don't get the exact relic or brick you need, hit the trade boards, other people probably want to swap

Every event we have people stressing and complaining that it's too hard, but by the end of the event people are bored because they have everything. Trust us, we don't design events to be impossible for the average user.

I never said the event is too hard, I enjoy it but the cool down is unreasonable.

You say the items you get from the sand pile equals one pet reward but that isn't true. You need to go to the sand pile at least three times to get enough relics/jewels - and now with the new queen area you are lucky to get enough of a balance between jewels and relics for a trade in - and two times for bricks. So that is two to three hours for one trade in. Why the banner, which is what has been used for every event since I've been around, couldn't work is a little confusing to me.

I'm not trying to sound ungrateful but the balance doesn't makes sense. Even if there are 12 days left of the event, the likelihood of getting all the pets because of the random nature of the trade ins and the time limit is very very low. Most people are lucky to spend three to four hours a day on the internet, so that is exactly ONE trade in from the rubble pile, I'm not a young kid who gets frustrated by pet site event easily, I have never complained about cool down times ever before on CS, so when I'm saying it is stressful and doesn't make sense to me I really really mean it, as a young adult in college.
