Species Information Basics:
Sphaera Canem (S-fair-ruh Cain-em) or Canes for short, are an ancient species of canine that has been roaming the earth for many years. Their average size is that of a male great dane, and their lifespan reaches 100 years. They use herbs for medicinal reasons as well as food. Their coloration is often of darker and more muted colors or natural colors. Each cane has a liquid-like orb at the end of their tails that can be used to wield the power of one of five elements, Air, Earth, Water, Fire, and Thunder. Spheara Canem start out as pups with no orb, and develop one over time. The type of orb they develop is not dependant on their pelt color, habitat, or lineage, but rather their personality.
Species Habitat and Interaction:
Sphaera Canem have no habitat preference as a whole, but do tend to stay in areas that suit their element. However they prefer to live in environments that have little to no human interference. Canes often form pack dynamics that can consist anywhere from 4-16 members, although it is not uncommon to find a cane that prefers to be a loner. Their territories are vast and do not mind if another pack is living in the same area as long as they do not run into one another, they value their privacy as a pack and keep their distance from outsiders. Canes have no natural enemies and prefer to sleep out in the open, underneath the stars.
Species Diet:
Sphaera Canem are omnivores. They hunt by themselves or in small parties of 2-4. Their diet consists of small reptiles, insects, rodents, birds, edible plants, and sometimes carrion. They put feeding the young and elderly first, then catch their own food.

Fire:
Fire canes value individuality, bravery, and hard work, and they despise limitations and laziness. At their best, they are bold, passionate, industrious, and persevering. At their worst they are brazen, hot-headed, violent, and brash. They are stereotyped as all being wild and violent, but they can be calm and quiet as any other element. Though even the calmest of fire canes can be coaxed to reveal their hot temper.
Water:
Water canes value friendship, loyalty, and a good sense of humor, and dislike loneliness and traitors. At their best they are trustworthy, playful, and caring. At their worst they are foolish, annoying, and childish. It is a common stereotype that they are lacking in intelligence and are too carefree, but they can be serious and intelligent like the rest. Though every water cane enjoys a good joke.
Earth:
Earth canes value peace, patience, and simplicity, and dislike complication and drastic change. At their best they are agreeable, understanding, and calm. At their worst they are stubborn, stern, and controlling. It is a common stereotype that they are too calm and simple, but they can be wild and intricate like the rest of them. Though they always need time to wind down at the end of the day.
Air:
Air canes value order, intelligence, and silence, and dislike disorder, ignorance, and commotion. At their best they are helpful, cunning, and adaptable. At their worst they are haughty, stern, and cruel. Many think them reserved smart-alec's, but they can be outgoing and foolish as well. Though even the most foolish air cane is smart in their own way, and adept at one thing or another.
Thunder:
Thunder canes value expression, freedom, and noise, and dislike silence, restraint, and sternness. At their best they are bubly, creative, and good-natured. At their worst they are loud, hyperactive, and oblivious. They are thought to be foolhardy and proud, but can be sensible and quiet just as well. Though every thunder cane has a thirst for expression, even the most subdued.
