I felt pretty old when I looked back a few pages and saw them talking as if the Medieval Faire was an anicent thing.. it feels like yesterday that the Medieval Faire happened! :c

I remember when I found this site out and I signed up and found out you could adopt pets and watch them grow I thought it was the coolest thing. I checked back everyday to see if they grew and then get mad when they didn't that day I don't like looking back on the times where I was a noob at everything.

Not the oldest member around but I remember when Warrior Cats and the grey second gens were the most common pets on the site and you couldn't get rid of them if you tried.
Especially with the old pound since all the older pets were gone in a minute, everyone would complain about it only having warrior cats.

i remember seriously stressing over that first advent. i still don't know what happened to all of my advent pets, but for a time i had most of them. it was fun, and i still really like the pets we got that time, aa

^ I remember those days. I have a warrior hoard and one person donated about 600 of them to me for free. Now I struggle to even haggle one off someone so my hoard has pretty much stopped growing :P

I also remember how exciting/crazy it was when the theme was changed from the original brown/grey/dull one to that ultra bright one!

And in christmas of 2009 the obsession with making fake pet coal /guilty as charged.

Haha, I saw something about the old Chickensmoothie layout and I was like "...Hey, I can look at that! I can go on Wayback machine!"

If you don't know, Wayback machine is a site, a "web archive" site. It browses the internet, looking at pages and posting them(not personal ones from you computer or something, though). So I went to ol' chickensmoothery and.....

BOOM ! A bunch of pre-Chickensmoothie stuff.

Apparently the pre-CS era was a site ran by Tess and someone else... "Silent Wolf Kennelz". Dunno if anyone else knew this besides the people who were here back in 08.

Oh my goodness, this thread brings back so many memories! I joined back in November of 2008 with a different account (I changed accounts because my pets were so mixed up and crazy, I needed a fresh start). I remember that I thought that the pets were growing extremely slow, and I was so excited when I saw that they had grown. I wish I would have known to keep my pets instead of trading them off. Oh well.

The first Advent Calendar was sooo exciting! I remember being extremely happy with all the cool new pets every day.

I remember that people would make topics where they would show all of their pets (back when there were so few). I had them sorted into 'packs' and they all had special names, but I started to collect so many pets that I couldn't do that anymore. Haha, it would be super crazy if I tried that now. XD

The only thing I clearly remember of the old/original(?) layout is the giant banner of Avian across the top of the site, and that there were text links rather than image links to the adopt pages, etc. I can't remember what the old trading system looked like; probably got erased since I've been staring at the newer systems so much.

Then there's the pound back when you had to go through pages to find a pet you wanted; it wasn't timed at all. So many 2nd gens. OTL

I remember having to adopt one pet at a time and that I had to do a whole lot of clicking just to get all the 2nd gen outcomes. I also didn't adopt most rats and Tess horses because I didn't like the way they looked, same with the Mini Huskies, though I traded my huskies away ages ago. I was all about Warrior Cats and dogs, maybe butterfly wolves too. My old username of Oceanstar probably made that obvious. (•́ ω •̀);

My first event was the '08 Christmas Advent, though I don't remember adopting any of them despite my pets saying otherwise, haha. I do remember discussing a swap/trade for the two Santa Cats on some event thread (did swap threads even exist back then, I think it was just one giant thread for the event, trade talk and pet talk all in one). I think school kept me away from the event. That or I didn't really mind that I was missing pets, which isn't too surprising since collecting was a thing I never thought of, plus my adopting habits were pretty bad (so many missing outcomes, and I'm still missing some/most of them. regret.). I'm probably way more into CS now than back then.

I remember my first (and only, as of currently) trade thread. It was very short lived. I remember trading a green batdog 2nd gen, though looking at my trades I didn't trade it + something else for my Red Rose as I thought I did. I'm pretty sure I did get my Red Rose through that thread, though. There was a lot of image wishlists, too. I don't think I ever made one; probably didn't know how.

Things were just generally pleasant and relaxing back then (even trading was less stressful); I feel pretty calm just thinking about it. (´ヮ`)

I remember the old site layout quite well actually ;v; (at least, how it was when I joined, dunno if that was the original one or not) I remember it being on the left side and links. The oekaki was also smaller and I'm pretty sure there was no features. I don't remember the old trading system at all but I remember that we used to not be able to lock our groups haha.

The pound also used to be pages and pages long, and you'd have to look through them all. I know that you'd always stalk the pounds opening time and rush to get to the last page in hopes of getting a rare pet lol.
