The attempt was successful, and Wasppaw quickly slid out of the way as the other apprentice stumbled. He took the advantage and pounced on her, pummeling her side with his forepaws--claws sheathed of course. His eyes were glowing with pretend anger, but he was still grinning slightly, and his tail flicked out in excitement.

"Pigeon tail?" he called out.

Pigeontail swept her tail across the ground, and then lifted her head when she heard a voice call her name. Pricking her ears, she got to her paws and stepped towards the entrance of her den. Spotting Brackenstorm, she tilted her head. "Yes?" she meowed in response, the tip of her tail flicking gently around her hind paws.

"Nice catch." Swiftsong purred.

The white tom lifted his tail and smiled at her. "Thanks," he rumbled warmly, and trotted back towards her. He quickly buried the squirrel under a clump of ferns, then with a dip of his head stepped forwards next to Swiftsong, lifting his muzzle to scent for more prey nearby.

Swiftsong smiled and smelled a bird. She leaped straight into a tree, right on a branch. She snapped the bird's back easily.

"Is there anything I can do to help? I'm boredm and I want to be useful." he mews.

The medicine cat leaned back on her haunches, smooth pelt rippling. "Hmm..." she thought for a moment, a little taken aback but pleased nonetheless. "I am a little low on celandine, perhaps you could come herb-hunting with me?" she asked. Her tail flicked up and she backed up a pace, glancing aside to her stores. Pigeontail pulled out a small clump of yellow flowers with fuzzy stems. "This is what it looks like."

He came to a halt when Swiftsong suddenly rushed forwards. Momentarily confused, he quickly spotted her target; a small bird. She made quick work of the creature. "Magnificent." Heronleap murmured cheerily, his eyes aglow.

The tom swished his tail against her, and strode forwards again. "Whenever you want to turn around, just tell me." he offered, glancing quickly towards her before facing front again to watch where he walked. His muzzle tilted up and he scented the air, deciding which prey-scent he wanted to go after next. A vole sounded nice.
