non-owner :: i am a non-owner and really hope to make this Foxerfly my first one ever. i've been following the species for a long time, and this is one of the few that have won my heart. call it a love at first sight!

why do I want this foxerfly? ever since i was little i have been fascinated by dragons and gemstones, and mythology in general. i knew as soon as i saw her that i could give her an amazing character. the character i have developed below is largely based off of artemis, the greek goddess of the moon as well as moonstone, a marvel character. despite how different the two are i felt that they both suited her, and that their attributes combined would make an interesting and compelling foxerfly. whether i win her or not i know i will absolutely love this babe until the day i die.

what do I plan to do with this foxerfly? be as active as i possibly can with her! i would love to be able to roleplay her with other foxerflies to develop her character even further. also you can expect a lot of fan art from me because she's just so gosh darn irresistable! one of the major goals i want to achieve is to find a foxerfly that i could make her brother, whom i would like to base off of apollo. if i could achieve that i feel like my life would be complete.

health :: overall artemis has amazing health, enabling her to live the nomadic life style she does. upon encountering any new sort of pathogen, her body will be 'bogged down' for a matter of days making her more tired than usual and unable to venture as far, but not once has she had a long-term physical illness that has ailed her. she attributes much of her good health to the healing properties of the moonstones she carries.
hygiene :: depends on her travels and the environment around her. while she tries to bathe often, there is not always a body of water nearby. she can go for a matter of days without washing and has picked up tips and tricks along her travels to staying clean. in extreme cases she will coat her fur in dust to prevent the build-up of oils until she can next bathe again.

physical strengths :: after having travelled for as long as she has, artemis has developed muscles in places most foxerflies wouldn't even realise there were any. she is incredibly fit and has fast reflexes that allow her to react to her surroundings. her eyesight is sharp and allows

her to see minute details from her position in the sky.
physical flaws :: despite being female artemis is sometimes mistaken for a male. she attributes her gender-fluid behaviour and asexuality to her masculine appearance. additionally, her sense of smell is rather poor. this does, however, benefit her in the fact that it allows her to eat almost anything due to its hindering impact on taste.

mental strengths :: artemis has a strong sense of justice to which she will stick like glue. she is not afraid to speak up and make her presence known in a situation where she feels it is needed. she likes to be in control and her bold presence will often be enough to intimidate others into following her lead. otherwise her manipulation skills are prime.
mental flaws :: her sense of justice is not necessarily founded on good morals. she tends to judge everything in the relation it has to her; thus, if you made her unhappy, then you were in the wrong. she is quick to react to things before she thinks them through.

childhood
artemis has no recollection of her early childhood: the nomadic lifestyle she lives is the only she has ever known. she has only one memory of what she refers to as 'the forgotten years' in which she is separated from her younger brother, apollo. of everything in the world her brother is what she cherishes most and she hopes that she will someday find him again.

teenage years
although artemis has come across many other foxerflies she refuses to stay in one spot for very long. looking quite unlike the rest of her species, artemis feels isolated and rather alone. she has not found herself attracted to any other foxerflies and has found no reason to become attached to any particular place other than her cave in norway. for a long time she yearned to find a companion to travel with her, but this yearning has now been fulfilled by the deer plushie she bought in venice and now carries with her everywhere.

adult life
as she matures artemis begins to realise more than ever that she feels she is missing something in life. while she is okay with being alone she wishes she knew her past and has someone special to connect with. she continues to travel in hopes that she will find both her brother and herself.

healing abilities
artemis' talent involves mental control over the spiritual energy in her body. through mediation and similar relaxation techniques she slowly learned how to channel her energy where she wanted it to go. at first this allowed her to do simple party tricks, like making her eyes glow or breathing fire. then after practicing for several years she began to realise that by diverting her energy to specific parts of her body she could actually heal injured muscle and tissue and broken bones, and with enough effort and concentration even others' injuries. for a long time this was all she could do, but her healing capabilities definitely aided her on her travels.

astral abilities
the source of her newer abilities is the moonstone she found in her early travels, somewhere in the rocky landscape of iceland. however she quickly realized that there was more to this stone than met the eye. upon retrieving it from where it was embedded in the rock, she felt a new strength emerge deep inside her. at first she didn't know what it was, but after researching and experimenting with her new abilities she determined that the moonstone must contain some sort of energy itself, which binded with her when she took it. this new energy adds to her own and allows her to manipulate energy around her. so far she has discovered that she can create forcefields and pass through solid objects. despite the extroadinary capabilities of the stone, there is one major drawback artemis discovered not too long after she first aquired it. if separated from the stone for longer than seventy-two hours her body weakens drastically to the point where reposessing it becomes a matter of life or death. to keep it safe she decided to make that moonstone her charm so that she would never lose it.

amplification
ever since she first acquired the stone that granted her more powerful abilities, artemis has taken to collecting every moonstone she stumbles across. she only keeps as many as she can comfortably carry with her on her travels, and therefore must return every so often to deposit new ones she has collected to her hoard. she stashes the gems in an icy cave near the peak of glittertind, the second highest mountain located in joutenheimen and is very protective of them. she has also found that being in their presence amplifies her healing abilities and will therefore return to her lair when she feels she needs to rest.

now we're going to move on to a few open-ended questions. first, what do you consider the meaning of life to be?

"well, that's a deep question to start with. um, to be honest i am not positive that there is a meaning to life. we all enter this world with a certain amount of time to live; eventually we grow old and die. until then we are just placeholders for the next generation of life."


that's an interesting opinion. well how do you view life and death?

"i think we should make the most of life. death in inevitable but until then we can do whatever we want."


what do you consider ‘success’ to be?

"self-fulfillment. i think success differs for each person and should be determined in such a manner. for some success is a material thing, while for others it is a mental state. personally, i view success as being able to achieve one's goals. it that sense i've not yet been very successful in life, but i've accomplished enough to satisfy myself for now."
