I've never had Planeria, but I heard Flubendazole works. When I had Camallanus (so nasty) I doubled up with Levamisole and Flubendazole. I don't know if Levamisole does anything to Planeria, but Flubendazole will. http://www.amazon.com/Bendazole-250mg-F ... ubendazole

Camallanus (so nasty)

I hate camallanus worms. They took my gorgeous guppy family. ;-;
I knew their little personalities and everything, but a breakout of those awful worms killed them. u-u

I was so upset and thought I would lose all my fish, so I treated them like crazy! No one died and they are free, thankfully.

@meredithida Do you know what specific types you had, genders, and how many? If you have Mbuna types, you need a lot of females to keep them from stressing out too much. I didn't want to deal with babies so I have all male peacocks and a male red zebra. Peacocks are very mellow compared to the Mbuna ( zebras, demosani, johannis) and can be kept with all males. Mbuna usually are too agressive to do so. You shouldn't mix them, as the Mbuna will usually kill the peacocks, but there are some exceptions like yellow labs, or maybe rusties. I am very lucky my red zebra is so mellow, usually they will be super aggressive and kill peacocks. I like to buy them when they are about 3 inches so they won't turn into devils when they mature since they are mature and you already know their personality. You also should kept lots! The more the merrier, I had aggression issues when I first started stocking since I only had 4. One I had about 6-8, they don't generally stress each other out too much.

Oh, no, sorry. I'm not breeding bettas, he's by himself. That's just what male betta fish do as part of their instincts even without females. It's still pretty cool, though!

Breeding guppies is great fun, and can be very rewarding! A breeding trio is the best way to go, so you're right about that! Guppies are very, very easy to breed, the only hard part being that you'll need to remove the adults from the breeding tank in time so that they don't eat their babies.

I would go with three 10 gallon tanks- 1 breeding tank (where you'll have the females with the male to breed and give birth and where the fry will live until they're older), a male tank (for daddy fish and all male babies), and a female tank (for the momma fishies and all female babies).

I would get a nice breeding trio from a breeder, or get each guppy individually from different breeders. Take a look at what colors and patterns you like. My personal favorites are blue moscow and yellow snakeskin. Try to get large females and a smaller male, that way the females will have an easy time giving birth and there's less risk of the male hurting them by accident. Then, since you'll probably be separating the male from the females at some point so that you don't get over whelmed, you may also consider getting two other males to keep your breeder company.

I may just be rambling right now as I've been pretty sick and my brain is a little out there...
