'it's not a nickname!' probably the most used four worded sentence other than 'get this party started' that has ever come from boo smiths mouth. boo was named after her mothers all time favourite book character to kill a mocking birds boo radley, she couldn't understand as to why her parents would call their first daughter after a mysterious male book character when she was a polar opposite.
boo blaize radley was born in seoul, korea in a shed, yes, a shed.
due to her parents inability to go to doctors appointments and somehow forget their second child's birth due date, they were only lucky to be gate crashing their neighbours going away party, were they only lucky that his wife was a doctor.
upon living in south korea 5 years, boo's parents then decided to return to australia.
being homeschooled until she was 10 by her mother, boo was able to learn the alien langauge without having the embarrassment of arriving to school with zero english, once her parents were confident with boo's english, she was sent to school.
that is when it begun; the common visits to the principles office, unread notes home on inappropriate attire. boo not only mastered in forging signatures, but dancing too. it all began with twirling, she just twirled in circles all of the time, and when music was playing, that was the peak in her twirling session, that was until she 'accidently' twirled into a $900 worth sculpture in her mothers art gallery.
she was slightly more reserved once it came to twirling after that.
she started in hip hop classes and sooner or later every second or third night would be spend partying, a social way she could dance. But unlike the majority of oeople there, boo never drank. she got such a high from dancing and having fun that she didn't even need it. it is a secret of hers though, people tend to portray boo as the party animal, the one who's out every night getting drunk, but that's not so true.
boo only drinks on special occasions, and she's a light weight too, so seeing that girl would be intoxicated. Boyfriends? boo has had her fair share of boyfriends, but never anything serious, they would all end up leaving her because she was no fun and wouldn't hook up, the furthest that girl has gone is a peck on the cheek, and the guys she has actually gone out with have all stuck to the story about what this did, and what a slag she really is. that however, doesn't bother boo at all.
as much of the supposed 'slag' she is, She makes up for it all in one go when she meets you. she will surprise you by being funny, kind, generous .. It's not an act though, it's just the girl she really is behind the made up accusations
despite her lack of enthusiasm in her education, when it comes to history, language and art, boo smith is an a+ student. because of her fluency in korean and a korean father, boo always finds herself helping the odd new foreign student around befriending them, she is also pretty quirky, her music preference differs from others, she's into the older style, and exotic music for dancing to her absolute favourite would be Paul Simon though, a huge fan of his African music too, it's fifty percent of her playlist - other than some kpop and old rock music.
upon leaving Korea at five years old, boo left behind a close net of family including her grandmother. when she was fifteen, everything was great, she had just completed a national dance competition and it was summer, everything really was the best it could possibly be. then she got the call that changed everything. her grandmother had passed away. of course anyone would be upset by losing a loved one, but seeing the fact that she resembled a second mother when boo's mother was away in Australia, boo was completely heartbroken, although the space and time difference from the two countries, visiting twice a year and regular Skype calls had made their relationship work despite the distance.
upon the funeral, something slightly more unimaginably sad struck - boo's elder brother, tao, disappeared into thin air. leaving behind his passport, belongings and money. his intention was always unclear as to why or how he would be gone just like that, was he killed? kidnapped? or did he just run away? it was all unclear to boo, All that mattered is that he was gone.
She had a slight 'break down' resulting in a later diagnosis of bi polar depression, but you wouldn't know it, she has disguised it so well, that if she takes her pills she can handle anything, and she can do anything, veiling depression has never given her the opportunity to morn her brother and grandmother fully, so she decided to just ignore the fact the they're gone in order to make herself feel better.
boo is stable, she does enjoy life; but there is a part of her not anyone knows, not even her closest friends, it's disguised by an outgoing party girl with no sense of authority.
