"Not only that.. I thought we could be friends.. But that was surely my biggest mistake. I am often losing persons who are dear to me. Many of them died in the central square. Whipping to death. But this isn't important. I realized that all this time I fought for nothing..hopefully they'll bring me some poisoned food. "She said quietly.

Aaron frowned at her. "Megan, I helped protect you from garret. Outside of the arena at that. I think that qualifies me as your friend?" He sat up and jumped down from his bunk walking over to the cell bars. "Your not losing me anytime soon. And if anybody poisons you, I'll make sure that they each suffer a horrifying death, or I'll die trying to avenge you."

"Yes. But I don't wanna lose you in the same way I lost the others. We cannot live forever, you know. If you die, I'll rather die with you than spend my last moments alone. Because you're the only person who cared."She replied wearily as she touched the cold cell bars.

Aaron looked over at her "Were in this together then? An alliance in and out of the arena." He said slightly quiet as so no guards were to overhear. "I lost my older sister to the games." He whispered now looking down at the floor. "I never told that to anybody, that's also a reason I've always wanted to survive and wiin." His Adam's apple moved harshly as he swallowed hard and turned away to sit on the edge of the bottom bunk, collapsing his head into his hands. "And now were in jail." He mumbled.

The cell doors miraculously opened.. it looked like they were powered by a generator. Megan couldn't help but stare at the door, and wonder who would do such a thing.
