Heronleap shook out his smooth white coat as he walked, lifting his head and scanning the forest ahead. He sniffed the air briefly, then lowered his head and walked on, deciding to stop and hunt when they were further from camp. He glanced over to Swiftsong and smiled slightly, tail flicking.

Swiftsong walked so close to him that their pelts touched. She suddenly stopped, crouching. She had spotted at mouse. She stalked it, then leaped, landing ontop of it. She quickly ended its life and picked it up in her jaws.

The white tom almost paused in surprise when he felt the she-cat's fur against his own. He blinked, but didn't move apart. However, Swiftsong broke the contact when she crouched down. Heronleap lowered his head, stilling his tail as he watched her hunt. When she'd caught the mouse he stepped forwards, eyes alight. "Nice catch," he rumbled, dipping his head to her.

"Thank you." Swiftsong purred back, through a mouth-full of fur. She started walking next to him again; her pelt brushing softly against his- again.

Heronleap grinned at her. " 'course." he rumbled, striding forwards. He blinked yet again at the closeness, but then let out a rumbly purr and relaxed. She was a nice she-cat, he thought, and he'd like to know her better. A few mores steps and he slowed down, sniffing the air. "Finches, ahead." he murmured, peering through the undergrowth. With a lash of his tail he darted forwards, leaping into the air and swiping at the two birds he'd disturbed as they flapped desperately upwards. His claws struck into one's tail feathers, pulling it down, while his other paw reached up to collide with the second. Both birds dropped, and Heronleap neatly pounced on both of them, grabbing them close so he could kill them. Once they were dead he lifted his head, and scraped at the ground to bury them.

"Thanks!" he exclaimed, fixing his mismatched gaze on the she-cat and grinning slightly, rather proud of himself too. He nudged the birds in the shallow hole and covered it with dirt, then stepped away to do some more hunting, pausing to wait for Swiftsong to return to his side, as he found that to be a rather nice addition to the trip.

She arched her back nearing the exit of camp, trotting into forest the scents bathing her tongue as she purred Spotting HeronLeaps white fur she crept up to him landing on his back full force as she laughed at his exasperated look as she jumped off cleaning her pelt her Blue eyes scanning the forest top noticing SwiftSong Hello! She chirped at her with a smile on her face

Swiftsong walked next to Heronleap.
