Bumble jumped off the girl's lap. His yellow eyes wandered around the room. The large black television, and the soft tan carpet, the many cherry wood shelves and tables, and all the girly toys on the floor. Bumble went outside to the balcony, and heaved himself onto the fence. He looked down again, into the alleyway.

Gem realized that he sat down, so she relaxed slightly, guessing that he wasn't posing a threat. "Yes, and you must be a kittypet because you sure smell like one." She said, blinking her amber-brown eyes, her gaze lowering a bit to the ground. "You asked who I am, not what I am. What I am, is a loner, but who I am, is Gem. My name is Gem." The she-cat had a small smile on her face as she, in her turn, sat down, feeling amused. "Do you have a name?"

Phillip flashed the she-cat a glare at her admitting that she was able to identify him as a house cat by his scent. He tossed his nose up into the air, momentarily ignoring her question on what his name was. "Well, at least I smell better then just about any other type of cat in the city."
Phillip then lifted his paw, proceeding to groom it carefully, and replying between a short pause, "My name is Phillip." More grooming, then, "So, tell me, why are you here? Why aren't you off in one of the clans?"

I nodded slightly and headed off in the direction she pointed me in. I frowned and sniffed the air, hoping to catch a scent of an animal. I smiled as I smelt a mouse not too far away. I followed the scent making sure I stayed walking against the wind so the mouse couldn't smell me. Soon I located the tiny creature and attempted to sneak up on it. With success I pounced and swiftly killed it, smiling with satisfaction. I returned to where I left Ivytail and smiled triumphantly dropping the small animal on the ground. "So what do you think? Pretty good huh?" I asked taking a seat on the cool grass.

Ivytail watched her apprentice hunt, keeping an eye on the way she crouched, how she placed her paws, and kept her balance. When the young cat returned with her catch, Ivytail nodded with approval. "Very good. Put that in a safe spot for now, and I'll go catch something." She turned and went to the base of a tree, clawing her way up the trunk and perching on a low branch. She waited until a bird settled on the ground beneath. It pecked at the ground, looking for bugs, and Ivytail got ready. Using her tail for balance, she pushed off with her back legs and flew towards the ground. The bird saw her shadow at the last second, but it was too late. Ivytail landed squarely over the bird, snapped its neck, and rose to a standing position.
