Troutfoot arose and padded to the meeting clearing. He chose a spot near the back and sait down.

Burstkit

For the first time in his short life, he was shy. He walked with Tinystep.

Rainpaw padded up and sat next to Troutfoot. She smiled at him.

"Thank you for fetching him, Tinystep. Shall we continue?"

Troutfoot

Troutfoot smiled back at Rainpaw.Now there's a cat who respects others!He thought to himself.

Burstkit

Burstkit noticed the crowd of cats. He immediately recognized the occasion and sat up front.

Rushingstar faintly smiled at him.
"Burstkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Burstpaw. Your mentor will be myself. I will pass down all I knows on to you."
The gray tabby padded forward to touch her nose to his.

Troutfoot

Troutfoot called out Burstpaw's new name. "Burstpaw! Burstpaw! Burstpaw!" He found himself grinning as he said it.

Burstpaw

He tried with all his might to stop himself from yowling with joy. "Thank you, Rushingstar." He meowed solemly. Outside, he was calm, but inside, he was bursting with excitement. I can't believe that the clan leader is mentoring me! That was just one of many of the thoughts that ran through his head.

Rushingstar lifted her tail to silence them. "You all are dismissed. Come, Burstpaw." She leapt down and headed towards the exit.

Rainpaw smiled again. "Burstpaw!" She yowled. She stood and stretched.

Troutfoot

Troutfoot looked at the sky, noting that the sun was now past the zenith, meaning it was later in the day. He walked over to his den, and proceeded to sit down, watching the clan.

Burstpaw

Burstpaw excitedly followed the grey pelt of Rushingstar. "What are we going to do?" He asked, impatient for an answer.

Rainpaw decided to practice her swimming. She padded through the forest and back to the beach. As she slid in, she felt something under her paw. "What's this?" She murmured. She looked at it.
