Forteras rolled his eyes. "Take a wild guess."He replied sarcastically, folding in his wings. "I don't look all that happy, do I?"He added, his tail flicking. The spines relaxed, and he glanced around his cave. "Normally the tale of Forteras the Feared would be told to each hatchling as a warning, and my cave would be known of. Or does the Alpha not do that anymore?" He sneered, his tail flicking. Three spines shot into the wall, making a loud cracking noise.

Emelia didn't flinch, nor did she make any sign of flying away. Instead, she sat on her haunches, watching forteras curiously.
"Well, I've never heard of you." she added in, her tail flicking away the annoying insects that tried to fly on her. Boy, she hated insects. Her eyes left the dragon for a minute and trailed up to the sky, where she calmly watched a flock of birds soar through the sky. That made her realize she had never flown with anyone. Flying together was a thing for mates, or close friends to do, and she didn't have any other those.

As the birds disappeared out of sight, the young female looked back at Forteras. "So your name is Forteras? Mine's Emelia." she said, giving a small dragony smile.

The large male gazed at Emelia with slight surprise. He nodded his head towards her questions, his tail sweeping the ground. "Indeed I am Forteras. But I warn you, if you're going to see me often, you may want to keep silent. It's not favored I'm hung around." He rumbled. While probably not being the most dangerous, nonetheless adults didn't like their hatchlings around him. "Where are your parents?" He asked, now slightly concerned. The gutsy dragon probably would have run off... But she didn't seem worried about any sort of guardian dragon. "Normally parents would be at their child's heels to keep them safe." He added wonderingly.

"I'm not that young." she said with a snap, flicking her tail harshly. "I'm old enough to be away from my parents, my parents wouldn't worry about me, if I had any parents. They didn't make it off of the humans land." she said simply. No emotions of this shown through, because Emelia had to learn to be strong and independent from a very young age. What fazed her more was the fact he thought she needed a guardian to look after her.
"I can look after myself, I have been for years so I can do that now."

Forteras folded his wings in awkwardly. He felt slightly embarrassed that he'd mistaken a brave dragon for a young one. "I am truly sorry I had mistaken you for a younger dragon. I guess I just figured that, as most even at your age had many spines." He apologized awkwardly. This was certainly more interesting then waking up grouchy, this was for sure. "Would you like to come into my cave?" He asked.

"Yeah, well I'm just..different." she said, glancing at her tail. She had always wondered why she never had any spikes. It'd make it so much easier to stand up to the other dragons. All she had to rely on was her teeth and personality to hopefully win the fight. She scowled, but when he asked that one question she looked wearily at him.

"You won't eat me will you?" she asked, stopping her tail lashing for one second. She peared into his cave. She doesn't have a cave, all the caves were taken by the more ferocious dragons, so she missed out. Instead she sleeps where she wants to, rain, snow or shine.

Forteras made a disgusted face. He shivered slightly. "I am no dragon like that to eat my own... species I guess you could call it." He replied, his tail flicking. He stepped backwards deeper into the cave, shooting his flame substance into the pit, relighting it. "While I am a carnivore, I have no interest in crunching hard bones such as ours." He added reassuringly.

Emelia nodded, and she pushed herself onto all fours, trotting after him into the cave. She looked around, wearily. It seemed like a nice place to live, in a cave. It'd mean she wouldn't have to worry about getting attacked by rogue dragons. She stayed close to the other dragon though, because she hated dark enclosed spaces.
"So how long have you been on the island?" she asked curiously, because she had never seen this dragon anywhere and she seemed to know everyone. {{sorry short}}

Forteras raised his claws, flexing them. He hesitated, thinking. "Probably four hundred years. The last three hundred years were on the human's island." He replied. He showed her his tail in the orange glow. Deep scars were noticeable them. He also raised his neck, and chain-like scars were also on his neck. "They figured a big, terrifying beast was worth the site in this big building, with many things to see. All of them also terrifying. Deformed humans, disgusting animals, and most of all me." He added with disgust.

the powerful dragon found herself awake at odd hours that morning. by the looks of it, the sun had not even begun to rise, and yet, her eyes were wide open, her mind completely awake. the wheels were turning, her breathing was rapid, her claws sunk deep into the ground at her feet, but the action was subconscious. the nightmares plagued her again, as they always did, it seemed. for many years they had come to her, every night a repeat of the torture she had gone trough, the pain she felt, the horror she witnessed. it started to lighten up, only coming to her every so often, something she was thankful for. however, for some reason, for the past few weeks, they were back as badly as the first time; every night she had to relieve the past, and she hated it. she lay there, motionless, restless, unable to close her eyes for fear of seeing the nightmares flash before her eyes, she remained in place. hours passed by before finally she could sense the sun had risen; day had broken. crawling out of her bed, in the very far, dark depths of her cave, she spread her wings and soared into the air, deciding the best thing to do would be get a drink of water to cool her parched throat. as she landed, she scented another, a male, and soon saw his foreboding form. "goodmorning, ares."
