It was very dark in Ares's cave. He slept in a chamber in the back, cut off from any possible light with "hallways," turns and corners. He could see best in the dark; he knew where everything was, and could find every room with his eyes shut. Though now, he found himself curled against the wall, a large wing shielding his head from non-existent light- an old habit he's had since he was a hatchling. Unfolding himself, the alpha male crawled out, lumbering through the long chambers and out the opening. He lifted his upper lip in a silent snarl as he was momentarily blinded by the light. How long was he asleep for? No matter; he shook himself out, stretching out his neck, wings and limbs from his tight sleeping chamber.

He beat his wings as he started to take off- the bushes and trees around him swayed as he finally became airborne. He headed to the main water source, his jaws gaping in a huge, smoky yawn. Ares scanned the trees below him, watching for possible signs of prey; he saw one, but the deer hid itself under finely-woven vegetation, and taking the thing out wasn't worth it. He landed in a clearing near the river, taking the short walk through the trees. He strained himself, weaving through the trees, so it wasn't long until he took a few down to make an easier path to it. As he reached the water, he dipped his head down, aware for anyone else that might have come here for a drink.

The ancient dragon rose from his bed of rocks, old egg shells and old scales from his past years. He let out a low rumble, his sharp eyes gazing around the cave. Something had awoken the great beast from his sleep, and he wasn't impressed. His big wings stretched out, sending a chilling roar through out the cave. He whipped his tail and five spikes shot into an open space, sinking into the rocky surface. He opened his jaws and sent a fiery blast into a bed of thick logs and heavy rocks. At contact, the seemingly fiery blast burst into a lava-like substance then sent up a flare in the deep cave. The amber glow lit a heavy depot of quartz, geodes and other minerals.

"Something has awoken me, but what? I heard no noise, saw no dream." The beast rumbled. His voice echoed off of the rocky walls, and he sent glances around the cave. The only noises that were heard were his fading echoes, bird's chirps, and the crackle of the fire. He sent six more spikes into a wall. What is bothering me? Each time I wake from a rest is when something important is happening. I see no proof of anything. He thought to himself. But a chilling drip ran down his spine. Something told me to wake up, and I heard no such.

Emelia was having fun, diving and swimming the deepest waters of the lake, but pretty soon she grew bored of that too. Paddling to the shore she hauled her body out, watching the water as it slipped from her scales and she was completely dry already. Lifting her head up, her sapphire eyes searched the forest and the mountain. Surely there had to be something to do, she mumbled to herself. So, feeling down, she headed into the forest but soon grew tired of walking, so with a push she lifted herself into the air. And that's when she spotted the cave. Did someone live there? Soaring down, she landed right outside. Silly dragon, actually, for her age meant she didn't know when to stay away.

Forteras's eyes narrowed when he caught a scent. He gazed around the cave. Nothing inside. He sniffed again. Outside. He stepped towards the entrance, spotting a small dragon. He growled. "What are you doing here?" He rumbled, his wings stretching out menacingly. All though he didn't have a buff figure, he was still big and menacing. His tail swept into view, and three trembling spikes looked like they'd fly off any second with out warning. He growled again.

"No dragon dares come near my cave." He rumbled menacingly, the spikes continuing to shiver, seemingly more violently. "You'll have only a few moments to get out of here or you'll be in big trouble. Not like you seem to have any guardian." He added, his eyes narrowed.

Emelia was started, for a second, by Forteras figure and his low, menacing voice. But she merely whipped her tail back and forth.
"You don't scare me." she said simply, even though the smallest part of her held a deep fear, for she did not know what this dragon would do. "I don't mean any harm," she added in quickly, "I'm just bored." Emelia stretched her wings, they had grown tired from all the flapping all day.
Emelia then realized she didn't look nearly as terrifying as him. She had no spines, her tail didn't even end in a spine. She might be just as big as him, but she definately didn't look the part. But, she didn't want too. She didn't want to be a grumpy dragon.
"Please tell me you aren't another grumpy dragon."
