-Personality-
Jasper's gentle and sweet personality seemed to make most people feel comfortable around him and made him a pretty likable guy. Even when times got tough for him he tried to suppress the bad thoughts. It's not easy for him to keep his cool, however. Jasper, having a history of depression, often tries to keep positive as best he can as to not attract his past suicidal thoughts from resurfacing. So long as he doesn't think to negatively, Jasper had managed to be free from his depression. On good days, which could just be a day where nothing went wrong for him, he'd find himself in a state where he'd be easily amused.
After years of having to deal with himself, Jasper's ego is not very high, unlike his self-esteem. On occasions a mood swing will occur, positively or negatively. When it comes to first impressions, Jasper does not try to over due it or sell himself out, although he tends to be more polite. However they choose to think of him, he'd like to make sure they don't decide by a false personality.
Jasper does a great job in putting aside his past and looking towards the future, although after he had met the king in black he;d admit to himself having second thought. Though he's not very egotistic, Jasper can be harsh. He does not like to offend others, especially girls, but he doesn't like to lie to them either. To him, lying to someone is like lying to yourself. This doesn't mean that he never lies.
Everybody lies.
He is usually careful of when and who to lie to.
Overall, Jasper is a sweet boy with some past difficulties that he tries not to think much about in order to keep his life going great. Though, that doesn't seem too possible now.
-History-
Jasper was born in a family of four that consisted of his mother, father, older sister, and himself. His life went by normal at first. By the time he was 5, his parents had slip up, believing that their childrens lives would be easier without having to listen and watch their parents arguing and fighting every day, all day. His mother had attempted to take full custody of Jasper and his sister by trying to convince the jury that his father was unfit to care fir two growing children, especially by himself. They found no reason for his father to not be able to handle his own children and allowed him his rights to see his children. It was every two weeks, that was the deal they made. Jasper and his sister stayed with their mother for the first two weeks. It didn't feel right to him, being away from his father. After the first two weeks, the two stayed with their father. This was what he preferred. After those weeks Jasper would remain with his father while his sister went off his their mother. The week after they switched parents. After that it all started over again. Jasper hated the crazy arrangements.
By the time he turn 11, his mother had remarried. Her new husband had been living with her for two years and finally popped the question. At first the two, Jasper and he, got along neutrally. But Jasper wasn't so eager to get close. Soon any sign of the two having had a normal family relationship with one another vanished. His step father didn't talk to him without wanting something out of it and he was less tolerable of the 11-year-old. His sister, on the other hand, had grown to love their stepfather as if he were their real one. There was hostility between Jasper and the stepfather. The man never allowed him to sleep late, for then he would wake up a later time and he'd have to wait for Jasper to get ready for school. He did not let Jasper's friend over past 7 and made this his curfew.
Jasper had a great loathe for his stepfather.
He was happiest when at his real fathers house, and the two were exceptionally close. He talked to him, unlike with his mother. He kept it to himself to the point where his mother was unaware of how much Jasper was unconformable in her own home and preferred being with his father.
Again, she attempted to gain full custody, this time she achieved but pointing out that she was now married and that their father had not remarried and was in deep financial trouble.
Jasper began to rebel. He fell into a dark state in his life.
He'd gotten fed up with it all. They had taken him away from the one person who could ever pick him up when he was down. There was no where to turn. He couldn't go to his father because he thought they'd think he kidnapped him. He was naive at the time. He ran away, only to live with a street family in the next state over. Most of the kids were runaways and the two oldest were the parent figures. They were fair people. He lived with them for three years.
One afternoon in May, Jasper had gone off with four of his brothers and sisters to find food and money. He was the the oldest out of the five and so it was his job to approach strangers and either con them or plead for their money or donations. There was one stranger that caught him off guard. The man didn't show his face. Instead of Jasper coming up to him, he came up to Jasper. He took him aside, away from the others, and offered him a proposition. Leave the family and come live with him. He'd be well taken care of and provided for as long as he did as he was told. Jasper would have denied, if it weren't for the man having shown proof of his wealth. So we went him him. He followed the man that he would soon know all too well.
