What Is An Arabesque Equine?

The Arabesque Equine is a unique creature native to the deserts of Middle-East and Asia. First put to use by the ancient Bedouin culture, Arabesques became the favourite pet of royalty. Arabesques were prized for their beauty, speed and grace. The sultans of ancient Arabia kept these beasts a beautiful little secret, refusing to trade them outside of Arabia. Those European traders that did set eye on the rare Arabesque saw them as fantastic winged pegasi, though the breeders refused to trade them. For centuries, European cultures tried to get their hands on these magnificent beasts, and only recently have Arabesque Equines been brought out of the Middle-Eastern nations that prize them so. Today, Arabesque Equines are bred in stables all over the world. They excel in all disciplines, but are valued most for their speed, endurance and jumping skill.

Appearance

Arabesques are characterized by a conformation much like an Akhal-Teke horse, with a high tail, long, elegant legs, and a small head and arching neck. They stand between 13 and 16 hands, and are relatively small, but sturdy and strong. It is the feathers that set this species apart. These 'feathers' have veins running through them, in oder to cool the Arabesque down. Mares have thick feathering along the hooves and long feathers surrounding the eyes. Stallions have thinner, less lush feathers on the hooves, and massive, striking feather crests on the shoulders and the top of the tail. Because of the shoulder-crest, Arabesque stallions cannot be ridden, though mares are frequently ridden. As a result, stallions are often kept only for stud, while the mares are used to compete.

How To Adopt

In order to adopt, you must have been a member of CS for at least 3 months and have made at least 100 forum posts.

If you fit that description, watch for oekaki covers that say 'Adopt Me' on them- these are the ones open to adopt! Below the cover will be the design. Even then, be sure to check to make sure the design is still open!

Fill out the form that the artist has provided. You may NOT add anything to the form except what the artist has asked for, and you may NOT pretty-up your form unless the artist has allowed it for that specific design.

The artist will judge when they are ready; please, no pushing the artist to judge sooner, and no complaining!

Stables all over routinely compete their Arabesque Equines against one another, to see qhich stable comes out on top. Setting up a stable is simple: one must only register a name and a page with basic information about that stable's Arabesques. However, an Arabesque must either be part of a stable or boarded in a stable to compete.

How to Start A Stable
To start a stable, you must have at least one mare and one stallion.
You must register a unique name that is not easily confused with another stable.
Finally, you must have a page with the basic information about your stable and the Arabesques within, including boarders. You may board other users' Arabesques at your stable, or you may be independent.

Boarding Rules
For a horse to be officially boarded, the owner must have a boarding permission quote from the stable's owner, and the horse's information must be included on the stable page.
For Stable Owners:
You may NOT charge for boarding in any currency.
You may create whatever rules for boarding you like- that's up to you!
You may evict boarders at any time.
For Boarders:
Boarding in a stable will make that Arabesque able to compete.
Only request boarding from stables that allow it, thank you! Check to see if they are open first.
You may leave the stable you are boarding at whenever you like.
