Melody looked around to find a suitable place to mark the end of the race. She lightly trotted to the right and then back to the left, her tail flicking as she went. Melody turned to the mountain and saw a tall oak just front of it."Alrighty, race to the oak just by the mountain then go around it and finish here. she turned to her friends her excitement plain on her face.

Alright! Seirra thought as she started to bound off the starting point with incredible speed.Well I heard two leggers talk about Secretariat,I might as well be related to him!Seirra though sharply.Well considering they said he was 30 lengths ahead,i'm gonna show my value! Seirra added to her thoughts.She saw Melody catching up.Let go..Let go.... She thought and remembered her father and knew she always tried to impress him.She sprung ahead of the pack with breathtaking speed."Secretariat!I'm going to break your record!Watch out for me!!" Seirra neighed loudly to the wind.

Luna saw them take off, and raced to catch up. She sped up beside Mealodys side, and neighed her happiness. She paced, seeing Sierra get a good head start.

Seirra galloped with great speed.I I..... i'm not even tired!
Seirra sprinted past all obstacles and won the race."I i'm like secretariat...40 lengths ahead!" Seirra shouted to the wind with great joy.

Luna heard her crys, and sped up, closing that gap by about half. It would take all of her will to pull this off.

Luna streached her neck, and almost stumbled. Losing lots of ground. She picked herself up, and sped up faster than before with renewed energy. 15 strides ahead was sierra. Luna knew she wouldn't win.
