Upcoming Rarity Changes Discussion

I feel like I'm one of the only people not that upset by the rarity changes. It makes a lot of pets easier to trade for, and I'm sure that the rarities will come up again after a while. I can understand it's disappointing for people who recently traded for rare pets that are suddenly uncommon, but fortunately that hasn't happened to me. And if fact, I recently canceled several trades that were fair to me, but I just didn't like the trade that much. Now that the rarities have changed, all of them would have been unfair to me. I feel so vindicated!

It is a bit strange that so many rarities got lower, but I'm guessing they're probably just making some changes to the way that rarity is calculated. I honestly have no idea, though.

What I don't understand is some pets that were always OMG so rare, went down to VR. To my knowledge, the flower pot and cookie dog have always been OMG. They could have been VR at one point, but I don't recall that, so if they were, feel free to correct me. XD

Nope, you're correct. They were always OMGSR. Maybe they were right on the border between OMGSR and VR, and the changes affected them.

Yep. It's happened before. The store pet rarity is calculated just like other rarities, so if a pet is popular and more people buy it, the rarity can be lower. I know that happened with the raven dog when it came out.

The drop may be due to many members coming back from college (many members poof during college) or it could be the summer event. The summer and advent events are the biggest with the amount of pets and items involved.

Rarity with store pets honestly don't matter as much because they are still worth the same value and it doesn't happen very often.

@ above: It's likely, with the summer event almost here, users with existing accounts will be active again in time for the event. Their pets are recognized as available-to-trade again.

For me the rareity drop both helps and hurts me that means some pets I need will be slightly easier to get but then my trade fodder is less value as well oh well as people start to gather and hoard the rareities will probably go back up so I don't mind all that much

I just wish there was an easier way to organize pets, or at least put them into an order by 'rarity' so people who like to keep rarities in separate groups dont have to go page to page to see the changes...

I myself dont mind the rarity changes because pets go down in rarity, but I absolutely hate organizing them and looking through hundreds of pages to find the rares in my usual groups or the uncommons in my rare group.
