"I'm the invisible man. Incredible how you can see right through me."

Frank watched with attentive eyes at those who reacted, listening to what they had to say. He remained rooted to his spot, finding enough confidence to stay where he was without moving back, but still too afraid to take even a half-step forward. It appeared that everyone was going against the fire-girl, and they had a perfect right to. She had called them freaks, after all. He didn't know if he should feel even more self-conscious about his powers, or to accept them because there were people all around him with strange abilities.
His eyes flickered around as he watched the others, flitting around, hovering around the action yet not participating in it, just like him. Then, someone moved. A boy, about the same age as him, but weren't all of them? He had pale skin and his hair was red, no, brown. Somewhere in-between, Frank concluded. He was one who actually looked normal. The others had rather prominent powers, controlling shadows, teleporting and running around at supernatural speeds, to name a few. This boy looked pretty normal, just like himself, thought Frank.
Then, with alarm, Frank realised the boy was walking towards him. He couldn't believe it. He was too shocked to do anything. It took a moment to realise that the boy had spoken, and to him. His name was Andy. This was the first person he met who actually acknowledged his existence. In fact, it was the first person he had actually met all his life. After that strange feeling of being recognised, came the feeling of fear and panic. He's talking to me. What do I do? What do I say? Play it cool, Frank. Don't mess things up. Just smile. Not that wide, if not you'll look too weird. Try not to scare him away. Frank a small smile and his eyes darted to the side in nervousness. Gently, he extended his arm as well and shook Andy's hand, a gesture of friendship."My name is Frank. It's nice to meet you...Andy." He hadn't heard his own voice in ages. It was weak and nervous, which was exactly how he was feeling. He was actually talking to a person. It was too amazing, and it was almost too much to take.

└xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ┘ caitlyn sighed with relief as the girl relaxed a bit, letting Cait rub the paste. "Ok, it should heal quickly." she murmured, before standing up and looking around at everyone and all the uneeded commotion within the situation. "Ok, look. It's obvious that we're not.. normal, but we really should move away from here. Just in case people think we were the ones incorporated with this.. thing." Cait gestured to the beacon, hoping that everyone got the message. She looked at everyone, and was taken aback at how many there were. Much more than she had expected, actually. The girl picked up the coat from the ground, then lifted her bag strap over her head, letting it sit on her shoulder, as a shoulder bag. So much anger had gone through just because of this girl, and honestly, yelling wasn't getting them anywhere. Caitlyn wandered around, looking for somewhere that was at least a little hidden. "anyone see somewhere we could go?" she asked, not to anyone in particular.

ANDY LEE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━power night vision | tagged frank c: , caitlyn, people at the beacon | location beacon
The boy's obvious nervousness and panic was vaguely endearing. He'd introduced himself as Frank, his eyes darting around nervously, and Andy took his appearance in. He had brown hair and startlingly blue eyes behind his glasses, and his voice was weak and soft. But it was nice, Andy thought, that there was someone else here who shared his own more quiet nature-- being around so many bold people at once after solitude was a jarring change.
"It's nice to meet you too, Frank," he returned, and a small genuine smile flashed across his face; something he had had little practice with over his years alone [though he supposed he hadn't really been alone] in the city, for there wasn't much to smile about. But Andy had found delight in the small animals he had sometimes come across on his walks, especially so the ones that came out after the sun set, when he could exercise and practice his night vision.
A girl with golden hair whom Andy recognized as a healer rose, pulling her bag onto one shoulder. She wanted them to move away from the beacon, where they wouldn't attract as much attention-- which another girl, the one who moved unnaturally fast, had also suggested. Andy found their suggestions slightly odd, for as far as he knew, there wasn't anybody else in the city. His brain working, he connected points-- until now, he hadn't known there were other people here. That suggested there was a small population, and for the population to be small to the degree where no one had seen each other before, it had to be a limited amount of people. Personally, Andy didn't think there could be more then this; and if there were, if would be just a few who would have powers as well-- because why else were they being isolated here, if not because of their powers?

Trinity had always been... Odd. No doubt about it; she seemed to delight in muttering to herself more than actual conversation. But who was there to actual talk to? Trinity had been alone most of her life, and honestly, she preferred it that way. No one to bother her, no one to look at her like a freak. Which she was. With a power like hers... Trinity pressed a finger to her temple, still remembering that day when she nearly lost control. Shaking her head to dispel the memory, Trinity continued walking, shoulders hunched over in an effort to make her smaller, protecting her from... Well, who knows?
Trinity went through this cycle for some time, feeling waves of self-pity rush through her at the worst times. However, as she continued walking down the street, A brilliant light arched into the air, so dazzling and bright that it could be seen for miles, despite how thin and small it was. Narrowing her eyes at the bright light, Trinity flicked her eyes around, wondering if it was a trap. But... Gaze flicking back to the beacon, Trinity hesitated for a moment. If a beacon of light suddenly appeared, then there had to be more people. And although she was a loner, everyone craves a bit of interaction, and Trinity demanded answers, to know why she was always alone. Without another pause, Trinity started towards the beacon.
As she walked steadily closer, Trinity realised she could hear the faint din of voices, traveling far in the dark of night. Pausing as Trinity felt a sharp flash of apprehension and fear, Trinity was debating with herself whether to turn back or not when a loud yell pierced the air, a torrent of angry, harsh words, startling Trinity so much she stumbled backwards and scraped her hands and elbows. Grumbling and frowning as she got up, Trinity barged into the little gathering, deciding that even if she didn't want to stay, she would at least see what the yelling was about. However, there were more people than she would have liked it. Realising she had quite literally ran right into the center of the little ring, Trinity hunched over in fear before activating her power, jumping back in short bursts, changing her timeline so she edged into the group like a slightly normal person. "What... What is this?" Trinity said, voice slightly hoarse from lack of use. "What..." Trinity trailed off, shrinking farther back, wanting to just jump time again and escape this reality, and barely restraining herself from doing so.

Frank couldn't help but smile a little wider. That other boy, Andy, he was nice. Ever since he was young, he had a fear that someone would use his powers and exploit them. He had once read a book about a man who could see into the future and the government came and took him away. Would it happen to him if he left the city? Maybe he was already working for the evil men, he just didn't know it yet. Maybe all of them were. Maybe his parents worked for evil men. He didn't even know. He didn't even know who his parents were. Suddenly, being around people, people like him, alone and lost, he felt a sense of loneliness. It was unexplainable and unexpected. He felt so lonely, like he had no one in his life. Then he realised, he really didn't have anyone. He felt the sudden urge to cry. He fought it, though. He couldn't be crying out of the blue in front of people. It was too weird.
Focusing on the task of finding a new place, Frank tried to distract himself from these feelings. He had only left his house on that day. He had no clue where he was or where everything else in the city was. He considered telling the healer that he couldn't help, but that would be pointless. Why voice a piece of useless information? He may as well keep silent, so he just shrugged and looked down, knowing that he couldn't do anything and feeling pathetic.
A new voice sounded and Frank looked up. Another one. He had thought that everyone was here already, but he supposed he was wrong. This one was a girl with piercing blue eyes. He tried to smile at her, knowing how lost she was feeling, but he found himself far too shy and he glanced down, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

※Sandy ※ "ShadowMan"※
I’m increasingly aware I’ve been painting things in gray,
I’m increasingly alarmed by the pain,
I’m increasingly alive to every cloud up in the sky,
I’m increasingly afraid it’s going to rain. The Skinless Man had grown in height, draping flatly from the sidewalk to the side of a building. Its posture was somewhere between threatening and drawn back; like a frightened animal ready to defend itself. Sandy's posture was similar, and he was on baited breath as he waited for a movement and the chance to use the seemingly glass orb if he needed to. When everyone else seemed to join in and verbally attack the fire girl, the ShadowMan released his breath, turning his hand over and letting the orb fall. Just before it hit the ground, where it would have surely shattered, it dissipated into nothing more than tangible darkness, a purple fog that swirled and spilled over the ground before becoming shadows once more.
He didn't notice when he had been agreed with, but suddenly the blue-haired boy was right next to him. His eyes slid sideways, and he took a step to the side just for some distance. He was ecstatic to finally find some real people, despite not outwardly showing it, but he was still apprehensive about all of them. Especially since three of them had already proved that they could do things Sandy couldn't.
Another girl was just arriving, calmly approaching the crowd and the light, asking the same question he'd already heard so many times before. He was starting to grow tired of this game. Maybe he did actually prefer the company of his shadows.
"Enough." His hand flicked at his side, and The Skinless Man shrunk back down to its normal size and posture. This was getting them nowhere. Frankly, he didn't even care about this beacon. It didn't seem to be hurting anyone and its only purpose was apparently just to draw them all together. "I couldn't care less about this light. Now that I know for a fact that people exist outside of myself, I have to find a way out of this city." Sandy drew back, locking eyes with the blue-haired boy for a moment. "I'm the ShadowMan." It just slipped out; shadowy whispers were hissing it in his ear. ShadowMan. ShadowMan. ShadowMan.
