What Will You Name This Horse?: Silver and Silent, known as Sil
What Is The Horse's gender?: Gelding
What Is This Horse's Personality?: He is very calm and laid back, which is why he is a lesson horse. Sil is a gentle giant, standing at a towering 17.3hh. He is a lesson horse for intermediate English riders, generally giving lessons in show jumping but sometimes dressage. He is quiet, calm and very mature, usually being used for the students with either low confidence or fears to do with riding.
What Is This Horse's History Like?: Sil was born right here at BCF, to a mare named Royal Regards and sired by Seattle Slew. He was raced as a turf horse until a horrific accident when he was about two years old. The horse in front of him was bumped into by the horse beside it. The horse stumbled, falling into the rail. Sil was riding right on the other horses tail, so when he went down, Sil tried to jump over the fallen racer, but because of the speed he was galloping at, landed wrong and collapsed himself. Both jockeys were killed as well as the other horse, leaving Sil as the only survivor. He got away with only a hairline fracture to his canon bone. He recovered quickly and was gelded and put to pasture for many years of rest. When he turned 11, it was decided that Sil would become a lesson horse, and he's taken pride in his job ever since.
Anything Else?: Sil stands at 17.3hh, was a turf racer and is 14 years old.
