Hey. I love old things. And so do a lot of other people. A lot of times you van find loveley antiques at flea markets, pawn shops and garage sales. But some times its hard to tell if you're buying something special or a price of junk. This thread is for treasure hunters to share tips about finding antiques and other valuables. Happy treasure hunting!

Diamonds
1.have a good magnifying glass
2.look for scratches and chips. Real diamonds wont have these
3. Real diamonds will have an opening under them to let the light shine through them properly. If the back is closed, it probably isn't real
4.scrape it on glass. A real diamond will cut glass
5. Look for a painted bottom. Fakes will usually have a colored bottom to give the illution of how a real one shines. Real diamonds are compleatly clear.
Collections
Keep a book of your collection with an entry for each item and label each item with a number ( so you know which entry is for which item). Things like description of the item, where and when you got it, how much you paid, and if you got it appraised.
