The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it." Terry Pratchett

"Oh!" Marlow replied, sticking out his hand as well and shaking Clarissa's firmly. "Sorry, introduced my brothers cat and not myself." Okay, he was going to ramble too much. He smiled softly and ran a hand through his hair, studying her for a moment. She was pretty, he guessed, and she was probably the type of girl that he'd tease Mordecai about until they ended up wrestling on the floor. Marlow was the only one who knew about his brother's sexuality and he loved to tease him about it. "I'm Marlow Waters. My brother and I sort of live here and go to school here. My brother is Mordecai and this's his cat." He'd already said that, though, and he blushed again, shutting himself up.

Nineteen : : Empath : :Christopher Storms : : In Jamestown Coffee Shop

"Well," Chris said matter-of-factly. "I have no siblings and no family; well I do- but ya know. Dishonor and all." He joked. It wasn't exactly dishonor that got him out on the streets, more-or-less the whole forcibly being adopted into a home by the government thing. The family he lived with didn't even need another kid. Shaking his head he turned his Azul eyes to Quinn, the question Eric just asked resting in his expression.

Twenty : : Nightlighter : : Clarissa Eve Flurry : : Jackson's Forward Youth School

Clary gave a sort of smile. She found it rather cute when people rambled; not cute in a 'oh hehe so cute' kind of way but cute. She was a bit shocked at the firmness of his handshake, usually people were more gentle with her, not that they needed to be; but she was glad he was different. After he was done talking, she kind of stood their awkwardly for a moment. Though she had listened intently to everything he said, she had to recap back to the first thing; liking to have everything in tip-top-organized condition. "I live here too, but I only just moved in..." She thought back to the time her parents told her they weren't really her parents, when she shut them out of her life completely. It wasn't fair, no, but she was bound to anyway. She did turn eighteen after all. "Almost exactly two years ago. Don't get me wrong, I know the school well-" she added quickly. She had been her since she was twelve, when her nightlighter tattoo showed up on her arm, interlacing lines with pale orange stars shooting down them. It was pretty cool, but it also meant she was doomed to school here. "I kinda wish I had a pet, or a friend." Cringing at her own words, she looked a bit embarrassed. "Uhm, I think I'm gonna go back to my room now. It was-it was nice meeting you, Marlow."

"Oh-um!" Marlow felt horrible for running into her and though Mordecai was usually the social one, his brother would kill him if Marlow just darted off now. Mordecai was always telling him to make more friends, after all, and they hadn't wrestled in a while- which, while fun, was tiring and Marlow would like to wait until after tests before doing it again. "I have a dog!" he said before she could walk too far away. "A-and he doesn't get a lot of attention... Um... Would you like to come meet him?" He smiled nervously, running a hand through his hair. He didn't want to invite her over, but he was going to anyway. "I need to take the cat back anyway, so you're welcome to join me if you like. I could... Make tea or something." He ran a hand through his hair nervously, watching hopefully for her response.

((Anyone else open to RP with around Jamestown or the school? I still have two characters yet to be used :) ))

Clary turned with a shy smile. "Sure, I guess.." She didn't really want to go to his place, or meet his dog...but she figured she needed friends anyhow, and besides, the look on his face was hard to resist. "I don't really like tea though..." She stated as she took a step back towards him. People usually got offended when she said those words, but she didn't really care anymore. She'd much rather have water or a nice strawberry lemonade, even coffee would be preferable. "Lead the way, I guess." She gestured with her hand for him to show her the way, pushing her supplies back under her arm. When she put them down, she knew she'd have lovely marks from where the spirals punctured her skin.

Quinn Leon l 18 l Necromancer l Jamestown

[list]"My family and I don't really see eye to eye on some things so I left when I was thirteen. I've been living with friends ever since." Quin said, not exactly lying. Kicked out would be a bit more accurate, but they hadn't exclusively told her to leave and never come back. It was just sort of implied. Suddenly, she narrowed her eyes at the boy, a strange feeling dawning on her. "Have I seen you before? You actually look really familiar."

"I'm fifteen years old, I still have the right to act like a child. But that doesn't mean I have behave myself. Just you wait and see." She says with a glare, leaning back with a sigh. "So, what is it you called me for?"

::Ericson Jonathon Lee Jackson: 16 :: Single :: Powerless :: Coffee Shop Jamestown ::
"Oh, I'm sorry," Eric says blandly. His words were dull and dry. He really did feel for the two of them and their families but he wasn't sure what was right to say. The words 'I'm sorry' seemed appropriate in this situation. He physically jerked in surprise when Quinn spoke again. "Oh! No, nope. We've never seen each other before!" He came to his own defense way too quickly for it to be honest.

::King Jonathon Jackson:: 34 :: Open & Single :: Unknown :: Castle's private gathering room ::
"There are girls having children and starting families at your age. Grow up," he says. He is frowning but he moves on, not giving her a chance to comment. "Now, I believe you have something that doesn't belong to you. You may have picked it up the last time you visited my home." Of course, it wasn't exactly a 'friendly' visit then.

Reposting for later...

"Hmm," she mumbled, "I never was really good at learning superstitions." She smiled at the boy. "Yes, let's go see these traps." She began to lead the way. The path to the traps was easy to find. She followed a thin, deer path she shared with the woodland cultures. "We'll check the creek first. I have two nets there. One is for fish, another is for the crawdads. I don't usually catch very many of those, but sometimes I'm lucky."

The woods break and just a few feet ahead is the creek. You can see thin rope and twines tied to twigs. They hold the nets that wait in the water. "Okay, here we are."

[center]::Ivory Ann Dark:: Nineteen :: Single :: Necromancer (with amnesia) :: Central Mysery
Ivory was silent when he finally dropped her hand. In fact, she was a little worried about being around the boy. People would be after him. Is that really what he had said? She wondered if maybe she had heard him wrong. She had a feeling she didn't though. "I'm looking for..." She wasn't sure she could explain why she was looking for it, but hopefully he wouldn't ask. "Well, I need to find some information about my family." That's normal for people to do, right? What did they call it? "I'm interested in..." She paused trying to find the word. "Genealogy. Yeah, the genealogy of my family." She smiled, hoping it would distract him from thinking she was strange.

She scoffs, irritated with his reply. "Well, sorry I choose the good of people over a crying mass of flesh and drunk cheapskate." She retorts. Listening to the other, a small smirk grows onto her face, and she reaches into her robe pocket to pull out said amulet. "Oh, this? I found it on the floor a few months ago. It can't be that important?"

Chris raised a brow. "I didn't think anyone is dumb enough to believe that." With those words he stood up. There was a reason he didn't trust this kid and he believed he was just about to find out. "Who are you then? Why are you hiding yourself?" He asked in an angry tone. All the keys; him looking toward the castle, his familiarity, and his lying, they were piecing together.

:: Murphy MacManus :: 21 :: Single :: Shape-Shifter :: Rebel Camp

Looking around RJ he could see the two nets in the water. "Wow, you build these by yourself?" Murph admitted to himself, he had never really thought about coming this far into the forest to hunt for food. He normally found and killed the first animal he could find so as to give it to the cook for the daily meals. "Lets hope were lucky today," With a smile on his face, Murphy walked around RJ to the edge of the small creek. In the water he could see the outlines of the nets but could not make out and fish.
