I awoke in my tent, and I realized that my wounds had bandages on them. An apprentice, who went by the name of Swooping Crane, came in with a bowl of water. He saw me and dropped the bowl, which shattered into ceramic pieces. "You're alive! We all thought you died last night. You've been asleep for three days!" Then he ran out of the tent. I saw my armor and my weapons lying on a portable table on the far side of the tent. I armed myself and slipped on the armor. The chieftain walked into the tent, followed by Rage himself, in human form. I was astonished. "Rage? I thought you were dead." He answered with a deep voice that contained power "We lost, Fear. Don't you get it? I was casted out of the spirit world to die here. I'll explain more later. If you were alive, why didn't you fight!? We needed you on the front line!" I told him "I didn't even know that I was alive. I just woke up here less than an hour ago. It wasn't my fault. Talk to Ashen Sky if you want answers, she can tell you precisely were she hit me!" He answered icily and calmly "Was it your body?" I told him "Yes." "Then it was your fault." and he walked off. I walked outside and noticed the silver-clad warriors that I recognized from the blood river. I asked Dark Promises "Is the whole Undead Army here?" He nodded. That meant that the other Council was here. I could tell the differences right away. The Dragon Hunters looked soft compared to the Army members. I went through a crowd to find a Dragon Hunter apprentice on his knees with his hands tied up behind his back. Scarred Beast pulled his head back by the apprentice's hair, and Gray Stone kicked the apprentice's face with the bottom of his boot. "How do you like that?" said Gray Stone. The apprentice's face was dirty and bleeding. This was not the first time he'd been kicked. I thought should I help him? Should I walk away? I ran up to Gray Stone and said "Stop! He has had enough." Everyone went silent and they gave me shocked looks. Gray Stone glared down upon me and he said "Are apart of us" and he swept his arm around the crowd "Or them?" and he pointed at the apprentice, who had the most fearful of looks on his face. I stepped back into the crowd, and he grinned "Good, I'm glad we got things sorted out." I walked up to Scarred Beast and used an Uppercut punch, and cut the bonds holding the apprentice. I dashed for my life as Gray Stone and Scarred Beast chased me through the encampment. I said the words "Atromitos Acinonyx" and the sword turned into Fear. Fear snarled at Gray Stone and Scarred Beast, but instead of cowering, Scarred Beast said "Nomadicus Onega" and a hyena came from his sheathe. Gray Stone said "Viridian Harangues" and a deep gray Tiger came out. Fear was overwhelmed. We dashed off into the forests, far enough to where the others wouldn't chase us. I didn't realize how far we had gone until I heard a Hunter's ambush patrol and a dog. Fear snarled and leapt into the fray of Hunters. Fear and I killed the Hunters, and I had forgotten what blood tasted like from a human. I drank them dry. I saw the entrance to the Vampyre coven as well. I sheathed Fear into a sword form and stalked up to it. The entrance was partly open, and it seemed vacant. I walked inside the familiar corridors, and I heard scuffling. I withdrew my sword, which emanated a light glow in the darkness. I saw red eyes behind a corner and I lit a candle from one of the walls. I shouted "Get back here! I have a few questions for you!" The figure turned around and said "Ember? Is that you?" I heard a muffled whisper "Get back, Anise. It's an illusion." Anise. That was my sister's name. I cheered in my head softly, she's alive! and then I realized that the voice that had said that wasn't my father's, it was my brother's voice; his name was Eric, and he was the eldest. I walked up to where the voice was and I was astonished. Only a few Vampyres were alive. I sheathed my sword and I said "Where's father, Eric?" The Vampyres all looked at a body lying on an altar, holding a sword pointing across his body. "Is he...dead?" I asked. They all nodded. I walked up to my father, and I said "Kcylunum Monice Entenium" or ""Spirits accept him" Eric said "Who are you, you seem to be a Vampyre, but you came from the outside." I answered "You know me as Ember." Everybody gasped. "We thought you were dead! Ozark told us he had killed you himself." I shook my head. "I am not dead." "Why are you here, Ember?" my brother asked. I told them "Come with me if you want to live. Or you can stay and die in this hole." Everyone looked at Eric and he said "We're staying! It's what Ozark would've wanted." I glared at him and said "I didn't want to have to do this, but it seems I have no choice." I pulled out Fear and said "Atromitos Acinonyx" and he turned into a cheetah again. He growled and Eric said "What are you, Ember?" I told him "That's not my name anymore. My name is Fearless Cheetah, and you all are coming with me or I will kill you. Step over here if you want to live. Remember, you exiled me. I will not hesitate to kill you." Most of the remaining Vampyres stepped on my side, except for Eric and his followers. "Eric." I said "Come and live. Be a predator once more, or die by my hands." He said "I won't follow a murderer to victory. You still killed Stone, don't forget that. I will never forgive you." I answered him "Let that go. Would you rather die over a lost cause?" He said "A lost cause? You killed him in cold blood, Ember." I growled "That's not my name anymore, Eric. I feel that the only way I can put sense in your head is this. Eric, I challenge you for leadership of the Coven." The small crowd gasped. I said "We use claws, teeth, and no armor except for the clothes we have on. In here, right now, traditional." He nodded and we removed our armor and weapons. I signaled to Fear to stay put. He said "We begin" and I said "Now!"
He leapt at m, his claws extended to the fullest, and I just ducked and raked my claws on his stomach. He hissed and I jumped at him precisely, aiming my teeth for his throat. I succeeded and his inky blood tasted starved and useless. He was abnormally light as well. I threw him aside, and jumped over him. He barely made any response back. I raked my claws over his eyes, and blinded him. He feebly moved his arm in an attempt to defend. I caught his arm and snapped his bone, causing him to shriek. I said "I cannot and I will not kill you, Eric. Surrender now or I will sic Fear on you." Fear snarled and licked his jaws. "I will never surrender to you, outcast. I would die first." I told him "Have it your way then, brother." I walked away and signaled to Fear. All you could hear was growling and shrieking, until it went silent and Fear walked back up to me, blood on his jaws and feet. I rubbed Fear's head and said "Good boy, Fear." And I turned to the population, who bowed to me and said "Fearless Cheetah, we accept you as our leader." I said "Come." and walked to the entrance, the whole coven consisting of about 30-40 now following me.
