yup, he is a Betta, they didnt say what type but I think he is a Veil tail

That's a beautiful veiltail! I've got one exactly like that in my bedroom right now, I call him Flame.

And Flame has this thin black line along the edge of his tail. I think it might be finrot, but if it is, it doesn't seem to be progressing/getting worse. I keep his tank clean, there's a small java fern and another plant I got from my community tank. Any ideas how to deal with it?

My sister's veiltail has curly front fins (the fins underneath the jaw). Is that normal?

I think the curly thing is fairly common, I have a veiltail with some curly fins on his tail, under his chin, and on his back.
As for the black line, did he have it when you bought him? If it's not getting worse it could be a marking.

Lupin, your dhg is looking good! I'm really happy with mine so far too. -needs to take pics- I've noticed a few new runners, and even a few sprigs that came loose and are floating have grown. Mostly though, they're gaining height.

My lightbulb went out yesterday and still needs replaced too. XP

I think Daniel might be on his last leg. He's still swimming fine and acting normal, except he refused to eat since yesterday morning. Itried ooffering him a FD bloodworm, but he still didn't eat it.

I used to have a lot of fish, but then they all died. I still have the 2 fish tanks out. My room is under the sea themed. Should I redo my fish tanks and clean up my room or just leave it alone? I am not good at taking care of my fish sometimes though. please help me.

If you don't think you can take care of them properly then don't get any c: Fish are just like any other pet, would you get a hamster or whatever if you thought you weren't very good at looking after it?
You could always fill your tanks with aquatic plants or otherwise decorate them so they're sea themed and pretty but you don't have to really worry about looking after them.

I need help :3 My friend has shown me a store where you can buy Betta fish that were bred in cold-water. We asked, and they showed us where they bred them. The fish were absolutely fine.
How is this even possible? And if it is, how do you breed them?
