Start working through the tutorial Nick made here: http://www.chickensmoothie.com/tutorial/tut1/index.html .
To get the file onto the website, go to cPanel (the screen with lots of buttons after you log in on 000webhost), scroll down to "another File Manager". click, double click on "public_html" (all files that you put here can be accessed by people who view your website, so you need it there). If you've worked through the first page of Nick's tutorial, you should have a file called "hello.php". If you haven't, do that now.

So now we're in "public_html" (Note - if this is your first time doing this, there should be a file called "index.html" that acts as a homepage, which you can edit if you like later). Go to the left hand panel, click "upload file", "choose file" then hunt for "hello.php" and confirm, then hit 'ok'. "hello.php" should now be in the folder. Now (preferably in another tab!) go to http://www.coolcools.net84.net/hello.php and you should be able to view that piece of code. You can upload the other files in a similar fashion, and view them by putting the file name after the website name like I did with that link there. :)

That's all you need to know to be able to work through Nick's tutorial. :D Alternatively, if you don't want to do all the coding, you can use www.myadopts.com that sets it all up for you.

Download and install Notepad++. Open Notepad++ up, and click File->New to create a new empty document. Click File->Save as, and save your new document as "hello.php". This will be your first PHP page. Copy and paste this code into the new document and save it:

ok, now I'm upto here.I downloaded the notepad++ just how do I open it?

Sorry for all my questions again, but I'm new to this but I will finally get there

PS: you freaked me out XD I was looking if you have posted yet and intead of seeing my username I saw yours, I dont know how it freaked me out though...

Because I am a posting wizard ;D (and am procrastinating from work ;D)

On the off chance, if you're a minor and not using your own computer to do this, please ask a parent/guardian and whoever's computer it is before you install something, because it's rude/dangerous not to. They might be able to help you with the installation, too.

Once you have permission (assuming you're using Windows) there should be something like notepad++.exe in your download folder. Double click and it will guide you through the installation. It will then end up on the start->programs menu like other programs.

If you're using a mac, you'll have to find alternate software - I use TextWrangler which works much the same way - in this case after downloading you double click on the file and drag the program into the applications folder.

If you're still having trouble, www.myadopts.com can provide you with everything you need and you don't need to do coding, or install things if you do not get permission to download and install software. :)

This tutorial is only suitable for those who have already built a website using HTML. There are much better tutorials out there to teach you the process of building and publishing a website :).
