Milla was speechless, as always. She wasn't sure of what to do. Trying to be as subtle as possible, Milla slowly stood up and turned to walk away. The last thing Milla wanted was for the boy to find out who she was. Passing by him, she gave a small, yet polite smile.

That was absolutely terrifying. It had been so long since someone had talked to her, and Milla did not exactly enjoy it. She stumbled away from him and caught sight of another bench, on the playground itself. The girl walked over there and sat down, her head still trained to look at the ground.

Milla still couldn't believe what had happened. Yes, shs could have chosen to speak. But it had been such a long time, and Milla was afraid to hear what her own voice sounded like. She didnt dare to even touch her cloak this time, but istead just stared at her lap.

Henry was in shock as she got up and left. It was odd behavior. Even if she was polite and sent him a smile as she left, he still was in shock. Well that was embarrassing. He had a newfound determination to talk to her, however.

Standing, he passed the bench she had moved to, but didn't wave nor speak. He did, however, smile and place a flyer for the new restaurant in town that he worked at. Since he had a shift that night, maybe she would at least check it out. The possibilities were endless.

With that, he left the park and retrieved the keys to his car so that he could head to work. His shift wasn't for another hour, but he wondered if the girl would actually go. He was determined to hold a conversation past a simple "hello." It wouldn't be simple, but it was something.

Milla watched the boy, confused and a bit nervous. Perhaps it was time to use her voice again? But that was dangerous.. it had been far too long since even she herself had heard her own voice. She glanced at what the boy had set down on the bench and read it, then jerked her head up to look at him as he was leaving. What did this mean?

Milla dropped the flier, and stood up in the direction of the someone who had recently tried talking to her moments ago. She felt bad, but honestly, she didn't have many choices available to her. Finally working up enough courage, Milla spoke. One word. "Wait!" Milla stumbled back scared.. her voice was completely normal. The only change was that it had turned smoother, and more soothing.

Returning to her stance form before, Milla wiped off her clothes and spoke again. "Why are you trying to talk to me?" She said this very softly, and narrowed her eyes. This man, or boy, was extremely interested in her business. That was not normal or encouraged to do in the town. She quickly threw down her hood from her head, revealing a wave of brown/golden hair.

Henry was halfway back home when he heard her voice. It was such a pretty voice; he had to admit. He could only wonder why she would hide it. He turned around to look back at her. He hadn't expected her to ever try to speak with him. He wasn't that desirable of a person anyway. Yet, he had been determined to pull words from her, and there she was speaking with him. And he had no words to reply with.

"Uh, well you see," he began awkwardly, trying to find an answer to her question. He awkwardly stood there twiddling his thumbs as he attempted to find the right words. "I don't know," he finally replied. She seemed to interesting, and he felt as if he needed to get to know her.

Awkwardly, he smiled and waved once to her. "I just ruined it. So, I am sorry. I am just not good at this. I am sorry if I crept you out," he apologized. He gave her one last glance before he turned. He just made a fool out of himself, and it was all to try to talk to some girl. In the in, it all backfired at him.

Milla furrowed her brows in confusement, watching the boy try and talk his way out of this. She smirked , watching him stutter. "Alright." She threw the cloak back onto her head and brush past the boy. "Oh, and.." Milla picked up the flyer the boy had just so happened to drop. "Here.. im not really hungry right now."

Milla shook her head, slowing down her walk and shutting her mouth. She had made a huge mistake- now the boy wanted to talk to her, all people. Milla stopped walking eventually, slipping into her apartment building. She jumped into the elevator, waiting to get to her floor.

As the elevator came to a stop, Milla walked out into her floor and into her own room. She had been kicked out by her mother whrn Milla had become a mute. Milla threw the cloak on her bed and walked to the mirror. Milla opened her mouth to speak, watching herself.

Henry mentally slapped himself for being so stupid. He always screwed things up. He stared at the flyer and debated on tossing it in the trash. He kept a hold on it and headed toward his apartment. He disappeared in to get ready for work. At least, he made her talk. He had to give himself credit. Maybe even he could even become friends with her.

After he was ready, he locked his door and disappeared downstairs. He started his car and rested his head against the steering wheel for a moment. How would he even see her again? He doubted he would, especially at the restaurant. He had to be so creepy, as usual.

Finally, he backed out of the parking lot and drove to the restaurant. He continued to put himself down for being so awkward. Of course, he hadn't expected her to speak to him, but when she did he felt as if he had made progress. Suddenly, he knew he wanted to break this girl that he didn't even know the name of. He wanted to know her more than he had wanted to know anyone else. She was intriguing and fascinating.

Milla spoke to herself quietly, and her voice still frightened her. Perhaps it was because she hadn't heard it in such a long time? She didn't know. Milla shook her head and draped her cloak back over her body, prepared to go back outside. She wanted to show people that she could still talk. That she wasn't a mute at all. Milla was just too afraid, that was the problem. The girl was torn between vengeance and kindness. Milla, there and then, made up her mind, Vengeance would just have to wait for another time.

Milla rode down the elevator, and walked out of her hotel. She watched the streets, noticing it wasn't as busy. The girl breathed with relief, walking down the sidewalk. Thinking. What would she do now? No one else knew that she could speak, except the boy. The boy! Milla had to make sure the boy never told anyone. That was her job, and she would save it for when she was ready.

Looking all around, Milla just couldn't find, nor remember, the restaurant that had been on the flyer. No where. She cursed to herself for being so foolish, letting the boy and the flyer get away. Now what? Milla wouldn't give up just yet. She grit her teeth, forcing her head trained to the ground. She would find this boy. Milla brushed past several people, before coming up to a small diner on teh corner of the street. She glanced in the diner, and not many people seemed to be in there. With a small ding of the bell, she stepped inside the door, only hoping for him to be there.

Henry parked where the employees were allowed to park and locked his car. He wasn't very trusting when it came to his belongings. He clocked in and pulled on the ridiculous apron over his T shirt and jeans. Gripping his notebook, he set out to take orders. It wasn't packed yet, since the rush hour was more of the middle of the day type things.

He was in the middle of taking an order, when the normal bell dinged. He didn't take notice at first, but once he was finished, he saw her. Had she changed her mind? Maybe she wanted to speak with him like he wanted to speak with her? What if she found him just as peculiar as he found her? Of course, he was overthinking it all. She could have happened to grow hungry after their mini talk.

Awkwardly, he offered her a twig of a smile before he moved on toward the cash register to get their drinks. He was ecstatic that he could see her again. It was almost an obsession. The fact he pulled words from her made him feel as if he were accomplished. It was funny really. He fixed the drinks and brought them to the customers before glancing around to see if, in fact, she was still there. It was funny how much he wanted to get to know her. Hesitantly, he waved. He was unsure of what to actually do, since he was working.

Milla merely nodded at the boy's wave, not showing any emotion. She put her hood down, and approached him. "If you tell anyone that I spoke.. I swear.." She whispered quietly, trying to sound threatening. Sadly, Milla didn't think she did. Still it was worth a try. Milla glanced around, before throwing her hood back up. She glowered at the boy before turning around, ready to walk out, but stopped.

"I forgot. I'm thirsty. Be a dear, get me a drink... water will do." Milla whispered in the boy's ear once more, then taking a step back. She flashed a quick... fake smile towards his direction before dropping her head towards the ground. She hoped it worked; that he wouldn't tell anyone. Otherwise, he would pay.

She made her way to the back of the restaurant slowly, trying not to make any unneeded attention. It truly was nerveracking; coming into this place and actually speaking. The whole town knew her as some sort of mute. Not any more. Maybe Milla could talk right now in front of everyone... could she? Should she? No. No one should know as long as the boy keeps the secret.

Henry hadn't expected that. Yet, a lot of things had happened recently that weren't exactly classified as ordinary behavior. "If you say so," he replied, unsure himself. He headed off to get her drink. So, she had been there to deliver a warning, not to converse. He should have known, yet he always allowed himself to just overthink things. The diner had a homey atmosphere, at least. He couldn't miss the warning hanging in the air, however. What was the big deal?

He still hadn't unraveled why she looked so familiar. Had he met her before? Not likely, he couldn't remember her face that well. He delivered the drink to her and placed it on the table. "Anything else?" he requested, taking out his pen and pad. He brain was spiraling with possibilities. He wanted to know why she seemed so secretive and quiet. Was there a reputation to uphold? He really had no clue.

One question kept reappearing, however. Why should he keep her secret? She hadn't answered any of his questions. She had even left him hanging, even if it were discreetly. It was just all an array of muddled possibilities. "If not, I should head back," he added hesitantly, offering her a hint of a smile. He didn't have to keep this secret. It wasn't his duty to hold something for someone who barely spoke with him. What, she had said maybe twenty words to him and it was illegal? It just was all crazy.
