Ryan smiled when she received her friend's text, and headed up to her room. She rummaged around in the closet for about ten minutes before finding something decent to wear. She pulled on her black flare skirt that went down to about mid-thigh and her white button-down shirt. It was what she wore for her job interview, but whatever. She brushed out her hair and smiled in the mirror as she brushed her teeth. After two minutes, the electric toothbrush turned off, and she rinsed her mouth of the minty toothpaste. She left her hair down and put in her contacts, smiling to herself. She looked decent; there wasn't a thing wrong with her clothing. She slipped her feet into her black (fuzzy on the inside) Sparees, and smiled, checking the clock. It read 10:55 AM. She smiled and got on the computer.

〜Lyx waited around in the kitchen until the dishes were done. Tait was already dressed and ready for work; she took a slightly longer-than-normal hug and waited until he was on his way. Then she rushed upstairs to shower and get dressed, haphazardly throwing on some jeans and a spaghetti strap.

➣Tait sat in the truck they shared. It had been their father's. His hands gripped the steering wheel, his knuckles white. He knew Lyx would be out of the house as soon as he was out of sight.

Ryan looked at the top of her computer screen. 11:34 AM. She got off of tumblr and shut the computer down. She grabbed her shoulderbag and shoved her phone in the main pocket, as well as forty dollars. She didn't know what she would be doing after she met her friend, so she brought a little extra money with her, just in case. She walked over to her bike, taking it with her as she walked out the door. She locked it as soon as it shut behind her. She got outside and jumped on the bike, riding it down to the Starbucks on the corner. She laid her bike against one of the outdoor tables before heading in to order her drink. "One venti caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino." she said, paying the seven dollars for the drink. She smiled and got it almost immediately. She walked back out to the table her bike was laid against and sat down, waiting patiently for her friend.

〜Lyx was indeed gone as soon as Tait left, just her and a small bag with her phone and ID and such. She walked to Starbucks, having no other way to get there, and made it just before noon. Being 'between jobs' at the moment, she didn't really have money to spare on something as silly as the drinks here, but she hoped sitting outside with a paying customer like Ryan would make sure no one bothered her. She smiled and sat at the table with her friend. "Hiyas."

Ryan looked up as her friend arrived, smiling. "Hey! I haven't seen you in forever! What's up?" she asked, her eyes lighting up. She looked at her friend and realized a drink was missing from her hand. She tilted her head to the side. "Do you want me to get you something? I think I have enough money for something for you..." she proposed, looking around in her little bag for some spare money. She found only a few dollars and some change, so she hoped her friend would deny the drink offer. Darn...I probably should have looked in my bag before I offered to buy her something...I'm pretty sure this is enough for a tall coffee, but still...I don't want to risk it and then have to ask her for some extra change. Ugh, stupid me... she thought to herself, mentally face-palming. She looked back up at her friend, noticing she had sat down now. She smiled, and watched her. "So, what's new with you...? How's your brother doing?" she asked, the second question slipping out without her even realizing it. After a minute she did realize that she had actually asked the second question out loud and blushed, hoping that Lyx didn't think it was anything, even though she did have a crush on Tait. She sighed, and looked up at her friend, waiting to see her reaction.

〜Lyx's face reddened slightly. "Um, no, I'm fine. And Tait's fine. Grumpy as always, protective, liable to freak out if he finds out where I am...but fine. And nothing's new with me... Still looking for another job..."

Ryan nodded slowly, kind of glad that Lyx didn't want anything to drink. She smiled as she said she was looking for another job. "I am too...I'll let you know if I find somewhere that will take the both of us." she said softly. She felt kind of bad that she didn't get to hang out with Lyx more often, but she was busy with school and trying to find a job and everything.
