Timberfoot cringed inwardly. He squeezed his eyes shut, afraid of Sootfall's response. He's going to hate me.

"No one would take me back" she sniffed

Sootfall nodded "Why,exactly?"

"I won't" he laughed

"Because...it's hard to explain." Lightningpaw mewed. "My 'people skills' are 'rusty'. I don't get along to well with others, and I'd rather train with a familiar cat."

"Did he?" Mintheart blinked. "I'm sure it's nothing. He probably just needs his own space, or to spend time alone or something, that's all."

Kestrelstar sighed. "Are you sure this is what you want? To join a Clan? It's not easy, you know. Sometimes it can be very difficult."

Timberfoot peered into the apprentices' den. "Lightningpaw?"

Barkbreeze nodded. "I can understand that," she said. "He has gone through a lot."

"That's not true!" Amberflame argued. She reached forward to nuzzle her first friend. "Ev'ryone would love ta have you back. Me, Mintheart, Emberheart, Chanceheart, Milkflower...All of us!"

Timberfoot tucked his tail in between his legs.

"Yeah." Mintheart smoothened her fur with quick rasps of her tongue. "So anyway, what have you been doing lately?"

"Oh you know, healing, hunting, waiting for Timberfoot's approval of kits," Barkbreeze said casually.

"But would Kestrelstar let me back?" She meowed

Sootfall nodded "I see....and you both agree?"
