Auberon straightened up immediately, putting his right hand over his heart and his left arm behind his back. "Forgive my incompetence, Captain Levi. I mean no offense to the Survey Corps." Humanity's warriors, huh? It was hard for him to not be pessimistic when faced with a title like that. One wrong move on his part could endanger so many people. It was for that reason he hardened his heart and sharpened his mind. If he could keep one step ahead of the enemy, if he could save the lives of those within the walls, then he would be able to sleep soundly at night. Was that what it meant to care? Had he actually been worrying about others the entire time, mistaking it for thinking only of the greater good. Well, at least one question had been answered- the question of why he joined the Survey Corps. "I understand what you are saying, sir. I will not question my job again, sir."
