Mardrom whirled around, smacking Dev across the face with his tail as he did so. "Cat!" he howled, Nina perking up as he did so. "Attack!" Nina let out a vicious snarl and jumped for Dev, lashing her claws and snapping at him blindly.

Dev collapsed on the ground and Nina was on him, her blank eyes staring hypnotically at him. "Nina, Nina stop it's me!" He mewled. He attempted to bat her away but under Mardrom's control she was a fighting machine. "Flora!" He cried. "Help!" Finally he managed to roll away, using Nina's short legs as a weakness.

Mardrom quickly hopped over and began striking at Dev's face with his large paws as Nina hobbled around and clawed at his legs. She hissed loudly, showing no signs of letting up any time soon. Both of the animals were slashing blindly, most of their attacks missing. But speed was their best ally in battle, so Mardrom just hoped to land a few hits.

Dev felt like a leaf in a windstorm. He was getting so tired, and so battered up; where was Flora when he needed her?!

Mardrom hopped behind the cat, Nina stationed in front of him. With a lowered head, he grinned crookedly and cocked his head slightly. "Give up, cat," he said to him, waving his long tail around slowly. "If you do, I'll let you leave. Keep going like this and I'll have no shame letting your little friend here tear you apart. She's stronger than she seems... She was so weak before this. I've done her a favor." He let out an airy laugh, grinning slightly wider as he did so.

Dev snarled silently. "You made her a slave," he hissed. "That's not a favour!"

Mardrom laughed and threw his head in the air. "Slave?" he echoed as he looked back down. "She does what I want, and she's fine with it. Right, kitty?" He glanced over to Nina and she nodded slowly to him. "Besides," the big black wolf continued. "Why do you even care? What does this cat matter to you?"

Dev was taken aback- his face pinked. "Sh-she's just a fellow cat, alright?" He snapped, a bit too harshly. Then he launched himself at the filthy mutt again.

Mardrom took the attack and growled at Nina, which told her to attack. She leapt at Dev and clawed wildly in the same blind fashion she had managed before. "What's one cat to you?" Mardrom growled through a flurry of fur and claws in his face. He wasn't even fighting back, as Nina could do that for him. "You've got a whole clan, I'm sure she's nothing!"

Dev wrestled with Nina. "Nina, stop! It's me, it's Dev! Remember?" Then he glared at Mardrom. "She's brave, and clever and not many cats are like that. B-besides, she has her special abilities..." Remembering his, he suddenly turned into a wisp of smoke and reappeared behind Mardrom, meaning to attack.
