[Galaxy~Nova]

Day 2

The next morning I got up and almost forgot breakfast in my morning excitement. I ran to the back of my father's truck and pulled out 4 bundles if hay. Going to the stable I thought of what we would do today. Probably just studying Spring. As I parked my truck I saw my best friend, Hailey, riding her horse. "One day, I'll ride Spring with her", I thought. When I reached Spring's stable she looked relaxed watching the willows blow outside. I opened the stable doors and reached to gently stroke her snout. She breathed a little as if he would prefer to go jump in fields of grass."Sorry Spring, Your hooves can't go into places like that," I replied feeling sorry for him. I applied some cream to his hooves. He was still jumpy but a tiny bit better than last night. I unhooked his lead rope and led him to the outside pen. He was obviously in pain as he walked through the stable, but as soon as we got to the pen he was better. I let him do many things like grazing, watching me with a curious "Wow I like you - I think" expression, and exploring the area which was good as we would probably spend most of our time here. I took out a carrot. He slowly walked towards me. I put out my hand and slowly petted his soft muzzle. I gave him the carrot and Spring gently took it out of my fingers. He sure knew how to get what he wanted! I saw him head for another blade of grass but I realized it was time for me to have lunch. I took his lead rope and tried to get him to follow me but he was stubborn and wanted the grass. I took out a tiny piece of carot and Spring turned and followed me. When I took him to his stable I gave him the carrot and drank from his brand-new water-food bucket. I hanged out with him for a while before finally turning back to head to my truck. I looked back and saw him looking at me.
