Lightpaw bit back a protested scream and bolted in the other direction, off ForestClans territory. he hadn't meant to shock his mentor!

Snowtail lead Sparrowpaw close to the border for hunting practice. She heard some rustling coming from the bushes. "Sparrowpaw, stay here and don't move. I will be right back." Snowtail ran through the bushes and saw Lightpaw running away. "Lightpaw! I need to talk to you!" she said as she ran towards him. "I need to talk to you about your power. I have powers too." she said desperately.

"No!" Hissed Lightpaw,"I don't /want/ a power! I'm a normal apprentice, who will become a normal warrior!" He kneaded his paws into the ground, whiskers growing hot,"So push off and stop trying to change that!"

[Illuminated Runner]

Snowtail looked at her paws. "Hawktalon knows. he ran off to tell Vinestar. Running away from your clan won't solve the problem. having these powers is tough, I know. I can read cats minds." she sighed. "I can't even concentrate on things because the thoughts of other cats are in my head, but I try really hard not to let the clan know about my power. I want to be normal too."

"I. Don't. Want. To. Have. These. Powers," Lightpaw mewed through gritted teeth,"I don't have those powers, and I'm not like you!" His whiskers began to spark and crackle.

Snowtail saw Lightpaws whiskers light up, and she tried not to look scared. "well, if you don't want powers, maybe you should stop using them." she said stiffly. Snowtail bounded off back to Sparrowpaw.

"I don't /mean/ to use them, they just happen!" He hissed back at her as she left, turning and storming off.
