Breeding bettas is ridiculously tricky, time-consuming, and, as far as I've seen, not for anyone who wants to do it casually. You can end up with well over a hundred babies that you need to separate, feed, change water for, and rehome. Usually betta breeders breed for a trait, such as a specific color, fin type, or body shape.
Before breeding even begins, males and females that are put together have to be monitored, because one or both could die. I'm too lazy to type out everything on mobile, but definitely check out bettafish.com and look at the breeding section. c:
