One of my friends gave me a baby "feeder guppy" for free.... Do you think the little one may really be a Mosquito Fish? I am keeping him in with two young female guppies at the moment, and he hasn't gone after either of them... What do you guys think? If he is a Mosquito Fish, how do I care for him? Getting rid of him is out of the question.
Everyday, it's getting closer...

I would need to see a picture of it to properly identify the fish.
Mosquito fish are just guppies with attitude, treat them like guppies but keep them with a different crowd. if he is a male and the guppies are females he may chase them around but even a huge male mosquito fish is smaller than a small male guppy(they top out at half an inch long to an inch total). females get bigger then female guppies by quite a bit(I have found females that are 2 to 3 inches long).
I personally love "feeder" guppies because normally the guppies are wild color, which means the fish is greyish with green, orange, and blue blotches all over its body(like an Endler's Livebearer). Mosquito fish are greyish with a seafoam green stripe on their shoulders(both male and female have this, though it can vary slightly in color).

I'll try to get a picture a little later. My camera hates me at the moment. XD.

I saw a GORGEOUS bunch of crowntails at petsmart and I'm dying I want one so bad omg
There was a gorgeous black dragonscale with several copper scales, teal between the fin blade thingies (I don't know what they're called; the pieces that make them crowntails), and a tickling of gold around his stomach. And the actual things that stick out were each at least an inch long.
SO PRETTY HNNNGG

You might wanna wait and see what someone that's more of a fish expert says though. c;
your poor boy. Do you know what caused his blindness? An injury?
Alrighty. I don't have any other aggressive fish, just guppies and bettas. Can he stay with the girls? He isn't attacking.
I don't know what happened to Yiska. He has had it sense I got him.

Carmel is an adult male Mosquito fish. He is a nice sized boy too

. If you don't have any female mosquito fish(its hard to tell them apart from dull female guppies) he will be fine with other guppies, just make sure you don't keep him with fish with excessively long fins like some bettas and guppies, normal guppies should be able to handle a single male Mosquito fish(female guppies can be mean lil buggers when it comes to that lol).

Alright, thank you so much. He is about an inch long. Yeah, he is the only one I have. XD I have fancy guppies. Can I keep him with some girls? Yes they can, lol.
