She didn't even crack a smile, and I was honestly a bit disappointed. Isn't this the point in the movie where it's revealed that the hardcore chick who hates the world actually has a heart of gold? But I guess I know that life isn't a movie. I sighed internally, a bit discouraged that I got such a grey cloud for a partner. Her last words were kind of a joke, and I smiled. Was it weird that I found her angst adorable? Probably, but what do I care? "Yup. Just like a couple of humans. I guess they expect us to just small talk, but I think we'd both rather explore than stand here conversing." I gestured to a random trail, not really caring where we ended up.

He chuckled. "That's probably the best explanation I've heard.'' He said, smiling. "So, I guess we have to get to know each other since we'll be stuck together for the summer.'' Dimitri sighed sadly at the thought of telling things about himself.

Alex looked at the trail and raised an eyebrow. Was he serious? No way she was gonna just walk down a trail that may lead to a place miles from the camp, with this dude. Alex sighed, well...did she really have a choice? Well, yes, she did. She could stay here bored, or go out into the woods with this guy and possibly rip out her down eardrums. Alex thought it over a moment or two, finally deciding on choice number 2.

She nodded, and began to tell a shorter version about herself. "Well, my dad's in the marine corps, so I don't see him much. I have a little brother named Aiden, who pretty much ruined my life plan when I was 4 years old," "And yes I did have a life plan then." She tapped her cheek, thinking about more things "Well, I love photography. It's basically my passion. I spend most of my time in my darkroom." She admitted, rubbing her arms.

I started to walk down whatever trail I had gestured to, throwing my skateboard over my shoulder and attaching it to my backpack. Well THIS was gonna be fun. Not. I was trying my hardest here to entertain this girl, but she just seemed to tolerate me. "You hate me, huh?" I looked sideways at her, my eyebrow raised. "Anything I can do to change that?" If she just wanted to be alone all summer than fine, but I needed to know now whether or not I was wasting my time with her.

Alex huffed. "That's one way you could put it." She said, walking about a foot behind him, her backpack was limply thrown over her shoulder, only being held by a few fingers. Alex kept looking at the dirty trail, listening to her boots trampled on twigs, leaves, and bugs.

He soaked in everything she had said and slowly nodded. "Are you done?" He asked with a small chuckle coming after. He wasn't entirely sure if he should tell her about himself but he might as well since he wouldn't know her forever. He mentally shrugged as he focused back on her.

"Wait, I haven't shown you my novel yet," She smiled weakly, not really joking "Anyway, your turn." She huffed as she pressed her chin into her palm, ready to listen. She wondered when she could stop, this was an awkward conversation. Very awkward.

his voice wasn't too deep or high pitched. it was a soft tone that mellowed out angellene. "well yeah..." she laughed a little. she was trying to make friends. trying to make the best of this camp. trying to enjoy herself. so far so good. angellene thought. she didn't doubt for a second that the others probably hated coming here like she did. they all weren't jumping up and down so she assumed she was right. "well now that we know each other's names, why not learn a bit about each other? since we are going to be spending more time together, might as well." angellene stated with a questioning tone. she wasn't thrilled to be here since this definitely wasn't her type of setting she liked, maybe i'll get used to it. although the thought of having to stay out here for over a month repulsed angellene, she would make the best of a bad situation. and the first step would be to befriend this boy.
