Jay's Wing glanced out of the medicine cat den, it was time! It was a few hours until dawn, which was the time of the gathering. He would make it back in time, for sure. He prodded the herbs back into the corner he was sorting, quite frustrated Mousepaw didn't do it herself. He yelled to his mom he was getting some coltsfoot, which wasn't necessarily a lie. Trotting out of the camp, he absorbed the sunlight through his pelt. It's a good day for hunting, his mind hinted. He knew this because of the bird's chirps; the sound waves of their cries bounced off trees and into his ears. When he reached the fallen tree, he sat down on it's base, waiting for Frostpaw. He'd be able to know when she arrived based on her scent; lavender.

Frostpaw looked up at the sky, sensing it was time. She sneaked out of the camp, racing through the forest silently, her heart beating. It had only been a while, but she felt like it had been an eternity. She stopped at the giant log, skidding to a halt. She leaped to the top, falling onto the other side with a mewl.

"You came!" He gasped, surprised and pleased. He gently nudged her side affably, looking down where he sensed her face was. "Did they give you a hard time coming out?" He asked again, his ears flicking. Under his paws he held some coltsfoot, he knew he had to take some back to draw away from suspicion. Being with Frostpaw was just.. just so much better than being with his clan mates. He felt like he could actually connect with someone for once, something he didn't with his other clan members. That's why he was so rude to them. They didn't understand. They never would.

She looked away, down at her paws. "No, my clan doesn't care..." She said meekly. She jumped a tiny bit on her front paws. "I wish I was with you! In your clan!"
