Amaterasu noticed a boy alone in the water and walked over to him, stumbling over her feet numb from the cold. She tread water behind him, her teeth chattering. "H-hello," she said, her skin pale and covered in goosebumps.

Akihito surfaced and sighed, becoming visible once more. He gave the girl a tiny smile and blushed. "S-sorry if I scared you," he said in his soft voice. "I...I just wanted some company." He flattened his bangs against his face instinctively. His blue eyes sparkled through his hair as he gazed at the girl.

Tera sighed. She was never going to get a date at this pace. Oh, well. It's not like anyone wants to go out with a nerd anyway, she thought, climbing out of the freezing pool and rubbing her arms both from the cold and from loneliness.

Akihito's smile became visibly bigger and he felt his blush disappear slightly. "Okay," he said, lifting himself out and sitting on the edge of the pool.
