I have pictures for everyone! They're kind of poor quality though. :S
Here's the first tank that kind of started my whole revamping process. I used to know a fair bit about fish, but almost nothing about the ammonia cycle. So, I've completely redone everything the proper way. This 20 gal tank is having some issues. The cycle took forever, it stalled, and eventually we got it to run through and were so excited that we put three platys in it. But, the cycle ended up crashing because we hadn't raised it up to a high enough PPM of ammonia. So, we're redoing it without the fish, but it looks awful right now.
LinkThis 10 gal tank has four danios in it, and is unfortunately doing a fish-in cycle. It's almost complete and we're watching it closely to make sure it doesn't get too bad for them.
LinkMy boyfriend's tank is also 10 gal and has five rasboras in it. It was fully cycled when these guys went in and is our first successful cycled tank. ^^ It also has all real plants, no fake ones, including the DHG that MacGyver and I are so interested in.
LinkThis tank is a 2.5 gallon that I just moved my betta into tonight. He was previously living in a vase, and I felt so bad for him that I finally decided to try to move him into a bigger tank. He's super stressed out right now with the slight current and much bigger space, and I really hope he makes it because he's beautiful. I didn't try to turn the tank light on to take the picture in order to avoid stressing him out even more. This tank is a national geographic one and it's designed perfectly for bettas in my opinion. Gentle, gentle current, beautiful lighting, no awful corners, and a little filter that has a sponge on the bottom and a tiny filter cartridge inside on the top for cycling purposes.
LinkThat's all my/our fish for now!

YES! omg he's stunning!! Love love love those orange dals! Especially the ones with a pink hue like him <33
(*Mac is pleased)
Thanks for sharing his pic! ;w; I think I might cry, he's so purtiful. <3
Lupin, your tanks look cool ^^. I'll have to post a new one of my 10g. I sold about all my bacopa because it was taking over AND I want to try something else, or get more wisteria. So it's not as packed as it was or how I'd like it to be. XP

Shrewfrost wrote:Sooo, I wound up buying that pink male veiltail betta fish. I kept hoping someone would buy him so I didn't, and he was there at the end of my shift still. Sooo, now he's mine. I'm gonna need name suggestions. I'm thinking about Pink Floyd (love that band, and he's pink, so...) or a Game of Thrones nickname.
Herp, I'm gonna go to Petsmart tomorrow and get a divider, and some more plants, plus a little hideaway of some sort for the new guy.
Here's his picture. He won't get into the new tank for another day or so, I think. I wanna have everything all set before I put them in.

he is a very pretty fishie

.
my bettas are doing great being outside, they are sharing their home with five mosquito fish, two sailfin mollies(the wild kind that get about 5 inches long), and two half an inch long cichlids. they male is very laid back about the other fish but the female does not like the other fish(she tried to kill a mosquito fish that was trying to steal her food, luckily the male sailfin molly is very protective and is large enough to take on a betta, no fish were harmed, save the mosquito fish, who now has a ripped dorsal fin). we are having family matter happen but I will post picture very soon of them all living together.

I need help choosing a name for him, though. D: I'm considering naming him either Jaime or Kingslayer from Game of Thrones, or some other name themed. Ideas?
But I would love to to see some pictures. Hopefully family matters clear up soon for you. <3 Glad that the fish didn't get too injured. I honestly had to look up mosquito fish. They remind me kind of like a cross between platys and guppies, to be honest.
they look like guppies in shape and such but they are 100 times more aggressive(they are often kept in smaller African cichlid tanks).

Nevermind, my brother and I decided on Feather, for the one with a more light blue tinge to her fins, and Rose, for the one with reddish-pink fins.
Feather is the leader of the duo right now, but Rose is just so cute~!

So sorry I have been a bit MIA.
I still have my 110 set up. Everyone is doing well.
I now have my 55 set up with 3 black skirt tetra and a CAE someone "donated" at the store I work at.
I also have my 10 gallon set up with 4 ADFs, also donated and a Halfmoon betta. He is super pretty.
I also have my QT tank set up for a black moor goldie who has a really bad case of fin rot and possible pop eye. Also a "donation". He will be joining the other goldies in the 110 when he heals and gets a bit bigger. He is hardly an inch and I feel like they would look at him as food. XD
At this point I should just open an aquatic rescue center... lol

They look the exact same as common guppies to me xD
they are as different as sun and moon lol. wild guppies are brightly colored still while mosquito fish are drab. guppies make great community fish while mosquito fish try to kill everything.
they are NOT the same and don't treat them the same EVER(but if you do, I hope you know what you are doing XD).

almost every pet store sells them as "feeder" fish(if your store has feeder guppies it has mosquito fish, just look for the shoulder markings on the males and females).
