xoxothe chimes of the bell hanging above the door startled gina at first, but she seemed to ignore the spine shivers at the sight of the boy. she could of imagined how peaceful the boy was before she had disrupted him. if it werent for the bell, the girl wouldnt of made a sound, she had a silent touch to her. her path change directions at the sound of the boys voice. ginas pace no longer in his direction. the girl found her self running her had over books, the oldest in the room. her back turned to the boy, she had walked straight past him. gina made no response towards the book he was reading, he didnt appear to be reading it any more. his attention drawn to her.
xoxowith her back turned the girl spoke once more, "ive been here three days," her voice quiet. her face away from the boys. "judging by your tone, im guessing youve been here less." gina would have stopped her speaking there, but something led her to blabber on. the girl had a way of reading people. when she were still living, she had a way of reading into peoples voices and gain a slight knowledge to what they felt. reading between the lines. once again gina tried to feel the air in her lungs, she tried to take it in. but nothing.
xoxowith a snap and a quick turn the girls nosy blurted in, "how did it happen?" her words flew fast and carelessly. it happened sometimes. "how did you die?" she added making her question clear, approaching the boy until she stood a few steps across from him. "at first i didnt know i was dead, but it was made clear quite quickly." gina shuffled herself onto the table, seating herself next to joseph, legs crossed. "the last thing i remember was walking down the busy street, and then, bang! nothing. darkness." the conversation the girl was bringing wasnt to pleasant, but gina had away of sharing to much, making people somewhat uncomfortable.
xoxogina paused, the girl had spoken so much yet had no clue of who she was in the presence of. "we never exchanged names," she slid off the table, and paced around the packed bookshelves once more. "mines regina, but please dont call me that-" she stopped in her tracks, "call me gina," she concluded with a friendly smile.

GEORGE MCALLISERx⊰ poor boy with his sad little past! ⊱

hellotherec;it had been twenty years since he had died, and george was still there. he had tried killing his killer. nothing. his unfaithful girlfriend, dead, and another big fat nothing. so the boy was pretty stumped on what to do. naturally, he had assumed that the way to do it would be ending the lives of those who ended his. It wasn't especially intentional, but the injuries inflicted on him during the fight had killed him. there was a court case, but no real punishment was issued, the evidence being too weak or too strong, the witnesses being this and that- there were a million reasons why they weren't convicted. perhaps even worse than dwelling in his own hopelessness, was watching others move on, because he had no idea if that would ever happen to him. so most days- in particular, the ones when a newbie would pass, he was in a foul mood. but today he was on a high. even more so when the distinct call of a human echoed throughout the mansion.
hellotherec;the brunet was lazing on a table, facing the ceiling streaming with spider webs. it was actually uncomfortable. which was strange, considering he could walk through walls without inflicting any sort of pain or discomfort. at first it had felt a little odd, but that was only to be expected. sometimes he still half expected to feel his heart pump when he put his hand over his chest- and sometimes he would, just to prove to himself that there was now utter silence. with his eyes still on the cobwebs in the corner, he checked probably for the millionth time for a pulse. nada. with a groan, he propped himself up on one elbow to face his companion. earlier on in the morning, he had found maddison and they got talking. they were still in each other's company, an effortless chatter being exchanged between the two.
hellotherec;"ooooh, humans." he muttered in a sing songy voice, his interest sparked. he could already hear the commotion unfolding downstairs, other ghosts inevitably jumping at any opportunity to mess around with anything undead. "wanna go check it out?" he asked, holding out a hand as he got to his feet. the hallway was right outside. he could hear cade and gemma amongst other voices. cade was dating made. and although it was something he didn't like admitting, even to himself, he was jealous.
it was only a couple of seconds later when ridley appeared. of course, he would want to investigate. something swelled inside of george. ridley really was one of those one in seven billion kind of people...ghosts. whichever, whatever, the two just instantly clicked. he always said exactly the right things, could make light of any situation, and had probably been his means of sanity for a long time. "i don't know. if it's a herd of elephants it sounds pretty dangerous..." george played along, having noticed the racket the humans were making. it was always something of an event when they showed up. the gossip for the next few days. "but ridley, i'd be honoured to accompany you to cause all kinda of trouble. mind if madi comes?"

Joseph watched her carefully, like he wasn't sure she was even real. He watched as she made her way toward him, and felt his heart stop a bit, even though he was already dead. He watched as she touched the books, and then spoke. He nodded, he had only been here a day. She had been here for three days, and she was still alone. She spoke some more and he sat contently, hands poised in his lap. He listened as she trailed on, and found himself smiling slightly at how much she could talk. When she asked how he died, he was kind of resenting answering. Joseph watched her tell him how she died, and felt horrible. The way he died wasn't as tragic; at least he didn't think so.
"Uh- Well, I cant swim and.." He looked at his hands. "These guys from the high school tricked me and ended up throwing me in the lake. So whether I died of drowning or of hypothermia, I really have no Idea; I just remember the water, the cold, and then waking up watching the police drag me out-" He choked a bit, remembering it with such clarity. It was yesterday, and he couldn't believe it; he was dead. He looked over to her, smile long gone. She moved off the table after asking his name, and he stayed where he was, swinging his legs a bit. Gina was a good name, he had met a pretty girl in the second grade with the same name. He didnt know how he remembered that; he just never forgot it.
"Im Joseph Lamb." He grimaced on the inside, he hated his name. "You can call me Jo if you want."

GEMMA CONNERS
━━━━━━━━━ SECOND IN COMMAND ━━

gemma merely shrugged in response to oliver's comment. she
could easily recall her first experience with humans after her
death. full of rage and sorrow, gem one handedly caused the
poor couple's demise. they were investing in the mansion,
planning on starting a family and renovating the entire place.
by then, gem was already calling the old place home- there
was no way she was letting someone take that from her, not
after losing everything else that mattered to her. since then,
the old ghost has only played a minor part in scaring away hum-
ans. maybe slamming a few doors there, causing a cold draft
here. she only pulled out her best tricks with the stubborn few.
swaying back and forth, gemma carefully eyed their two guests.
the girl, who looked only a year younger than herself, was speak-
ing as if she was one of them. had they mistaken these humans
as newbies? certainly not. the fresher faces always strikingly rese-
mbled humans, but it's easy to tell a ghost from the living.
without further hesitation, the raven-haired girl pushed herself off
the creaky railing. she abruptly stopped herself mid-fall, hovering
a few inches off the ground. gemma sent a cheeky smirk up in
cade's direction, knowing wholeheartedly that he hated it when they
put themselves in "danger". fortunately, danger didn't exist when
you were dead. turning towards the door, she gestured towards caleb,
a look of annoyance on her face. "the fun is over, kiddo. go bother
someone else," she said dismissively. it was her turn now. if her gut
was correct, they had a bigger problem on their hands. the second in
command took a closer look at the girl. her eyes narrowed at her pink
cheeks and glowing skin. the usual chill that surrounded a ghost wasn't
present, either. gemma held two fingers up in front the the brunette's
face, nearly poking the poor thing in the eyes. "how many fingers am i
holding up?" she questioned, her tone wary.
ZANE HAWTHORNE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HUMAN PSYCHIC ━━

at first glance, the young man who appeared in front of them seemed
to be another teenager out looking for a thrill. upon closer
examination, zane had a bad feeling that it was quite the opposite. he
had only seen two ghosts up close. if you knew what to look for it, it
wasn't hard to tell the difference. although appearing to be normal,
the undead have minimal transparency. they are simply apparitions of
their former selves, after all. when using the ability to materialize
their bodies, ghosts are cold to the touch and without any signs of life.
most of this information zane had dug out of books and research
papers. of course, he couldn't rush to conclusions that the man in front
of them and the figures near the stairs were actually dead. if he was
wrong, the boy would make an utter fool of himself. he unconsciously
jumped as the large doors slammed shut behind them. while evie wasn't
one who scared easily, his protective instinct over his childhood friend
kicked in. "you think you're funny?" the brunet demanded, eyeing the
troublesome stranger.
not a moment later did another figure join them. the girl fell from above
with frightening grace, and her landing didn't make a sound. in fact, her
toes didn't even touch the ground. was this the evidence zane needed?
probably. he took a cautious step back as she approached. "whatever
games you people are playing at are sick," he mumbled doubtfully. his eyes
scanned the stairway and rooms beyond, his body moving closer to evie
as more and more teenagers appeared out of nowhere. zane had a sinking
feeling that he had walked in on more than he could handle. he couldn't
help but wonder how many of them inhabited the mansion. ten? twenty?
