Icestar nodded, "It's a shame; I'm sure the clan would've agreed that we make a great couple." He murmured, wishing he could curl up against her once more and wallow in the love that they can now experience with each other. A small slither of guilt and dread managed to slip past the feelings of elation and affection; their relationship is another secret to add to the ones that weigh down his heart. But with one look at the beautiful she-cat that he had given his heart to, Icestar knew that this secret is far from a burden to him; he knew he would be able to draw strength from this secret, from this love. He continued speaking in a quiet voice, "Maybe, at night, we can meet up at where Starstream and the lake connect, or- Pebbleheart entered the den and Icestar immediately cut himself off and shut his mouth. He was sure the young medicine cat apprentice didn't hear him, for the brown-pawed tom was speaking quietly and sitting close to Blueheart, but unfortunately not close enough to touch.

Pebbleheart's words and the stench of blood and fox pushed away his fear of getting caught speaking with Blueheart about their courtship. "Oh my goodness!" He gasped, jumping to his feet. "I need to find Sunstrike." He said to himself; they need to make sure the fox doesn't have any family running around. "This is your time to shine." He mewed to Blueheart as he passed and the leader was sure that she'd understand the underlining meaning of his words; I believe in you and I love you. He paused when he reached Nightfrost, careful to stay out of Pebbleheart's way, Icestar nodded respectfully to the she-cat. "You have outdone yourself; may Starclan grant you a swift recovery." With that, Icestar slipped out of the den. Sunstrike was nowhere to be found in the camp and Icestar couldn't leave the camp, not with a loner on his way and the chance that another fox could be out there and on its way to camp. And so he waited.

So far, things were going well. Yes, the skirmish with the fox had made him uncomfortable, but now that they are heading to their camp, he can put that experience behind him. They had started walking a bit of a while after Nightfrost and the young tom left, the two were no longer in sight, and Kage wished that they had left with the pair, so that he could surround himself with his future clan-mates. His heart leapt with sheer joy when he saw two other cats headed their way. A pretty silver-white she-cat with grey tabby markings and bold blue eyes, and a captivating orange tabby tom with soft yellow eyes. "Hello." He purred the greeting before answering the she-cat. "My name's Kage and I've come to join your clan."

((Bah, excuse my writers block for Kage. Also, if you don't mind Black-Kit, I think I might have Kage crush on Foxfrost cx))

Dawnflight was suddenly reminded of Sunstrike as Martenfur basically separated everyone off into groups. Hadn't he been with the not-quite-still-dawn patrol? She'd thought she'd seen his orange pelt somewhere, but she decided not to bring it up. After all, she had no really clear memories of seeing him; she'd mostly focused her attention on her brother's conversation, and after that, she'd just ran to fight the fox. As Martenfur said he'd stay behind with Sparrowstorm, she looked at her brother; he was staring his paws, like he was guilty of something. Dawnflight was caught by sudden sadness as she realized how far they'd drifted. Where once she would've known exactly what was going on with him, now she wasn't sure at all.

But she had a duty to fulfill. She turned to Kage, who seemed awfully cheerful for being surrounded by so many strangers. Dawnflight wondered if this tom was seriously like that, or if there was more behind his obvious self-control; something she should worry about bringing to her clan. Too late now, she thought, then blinked at Kage, her green eyes sharp and alert, but she could see nothing in his expression. Darn. She'd never really been that great at reading cats.
"Don't thank us now. You have yet to meet our leader," she meowed, wondering what his reaction would be. Of course, Icestar wasn't nearly as ominous as she made him sound; he was a pretty easy-going leader, and she guessed that he'd probably accept Kage.

When more warriors arrived exclaiming about what happened, she inwardly sighed. So now they arrived, after the fox had already been defeated? She offered Foxfrost a quick nod.
"We're fine. Come on; we're wasting time. We need to get back to camp. Especially this one," she meowed, glancing back at Kage for a moment. "You can either come back with us or go help Sparrowstorm and Martenfur bury the fox." Then, without a further word, she padded into the underbrush and in the direction of camp.

Sparrowstorm barely listened to the conversations going on around him. He just stared at the ground, wondering what was wrong with him. While his clanmates had all readily leaped into battle, he'd just... frozen up. Sure, it wasn't like he had any real fighting experience like Dawnflight did, but shouldn't he have at least wanted to defend his sister and everyone else? Sparrowstorm felt slightly numb, and so therefore he just stared at the fox while most of the cats started going back to camp.

He hovered while Martenfur dug the hole for the fox, occasionally moving a rock away, but he was still too shocked to talk to the tom, and he felt as if he'd only get in the way if he tried to help dig the grave. However, after Sparrowstorm helped Martenfur drag the fox into the just-big-enough hole, he immediately set to packing dirt over it. The sooner he could stop looking at that creature, the better; maybe he could forget the fight, and get lessons from Dawnflight on how not to just freeze up like that. When Martenfur asked him what was up, he remained silent for a little bit before he sighed and slowly look up at the tom, his pale green eyes guilty.
"I just froze up back there. Cats got hurt, and I just... stood there," he meowed, feeling disgusted with himself as he said it out loud.

But Martenfur seemed distracted, and he didn't seem to hear what Sparrowstorm had said. Instead, he bounded over to the bushes, where a familiar orange cat lay. Sparrowstorm padded up next to him and looked down at Sunstrike, gently closing his amber eyes and only feeling even more bitter than he had before.
"I guess we just take him back to camp," he said slowly after a moment, shocked by the tom's death. He didn't seem to have very many injuries- just a few wounds on his side -and nothing he did have seemed very fatal. "But none of those wounds are fatal, so why is he dead?

Orchidpaw was quick to catch a mouse and Starlingsong watched proudly as she killed it swiftly. On her other side, she felt Raventhorn's warm body near her own and some sort of warmth that was completely unrelated to his body heat filled her. Smiling at the feeling, she shifted slightly closer to the tom before crouching and moving forward slowly. In the bushes she could hear the sound of another mouse rustling the leaves and, with a lightning quick paw, the black she-cat lunged forward, pulling the mouse away from its sanctuary. Gripping its body in her claws, she killed it quickly.

"Of course there's more prey, there always is!" Starlingsong teased Raventhorn, a sparkle in her yellow eyes. "And I'm quite aware you're not an apprentice, you are older than me you know. But, if you're willing to learn, I could try teaching you the bird calls sometime soon?" The idea of spending more time with the light-coloured warrior filled her with that same feeling being near him had earlier. She cocked her head to the side, studying him with her yellow gaze, unaware of how the action made her seem even more sweet and innocent than she already was.

Pebbleheart shook his head at Nightfrost's words, knowing the she-cat needed the treatment just as much as Firestrike needed it. Ignoring her words, he began chewing up a mixture of horsetail and goldenrod, creating a pulp that he would apply to the she-cat's wound. It would be quick, as Nightfrost had already cleaned her wound, and then he would be free to move on to the others in the patrol. Spitting the pulp into his paws he gently massaged it into the white warrior's shoulder, careful to keep her from flinching in pain.

"Ladies first," he mewed as he pawed at the cobweb to keep it in place on top of the treated wound. "Besides, you're all done now and don't have to sit around waiting. I think you should be alright for now, but make sure to come see me or Blueheart if you feel any pain at all. Understand?" Pebbleheart took his job as a medicine cat apprentice quite seriously and hated it when warriors did not let him know when their wounds reopened or got infected. It was as if they did not realize the dangers of such things, and it bothered him.

He turned to Firestrike next, only to see that the warrior had indeed fled the scene or, otherwise, had not yet arrived in camp. Shaking his head, Pebbleheart was about to pad over to Dawnflight to treat her wounded tail when Martenfur and Sparrowstorm arrived in camp, carrying a body between them.

Shock seemed to overtake the apprentice, but then the smell of blood brought him back to reality. Sunstrike's body was covered in it and the scent of it made him want to retch again. Deciding not to take his chances, Pebbleheart moved away, backing out of the camp in order to get away from the smell. Here, he breathed in the scent of the lake and forest, which helped to ease the sickness he felt rising from his stomach. Pebbleheart decided that he needed to talk to his sister as soon as possible. The only problem was - where was she? The apprentice could feel panic beginning to rise in him as he realized his sister was missing.

The red-brown warrior just continued to stare at the limp body of the deputy, despite Sparrowstorm's question. Amber eyes shifting slowly over Sunstrike's body, Martenfur noticed that the tom indeed did not have any fatal wounds. In fact, he could only see some scratches in the deputy's ginger fur, but any true wounds or deep cuts were absent. Frowning, Martenfur padded up to the body, bringing his nose closer to Sunstrike's fur to see if he could scent anything. Sure enough, a faint scent was present beneath the metallic scent of blood.

"He smells of some sort of disease, an infection maybe," Martenfur said, turning to Sparrowstorm. "We're going to have to take him to Blueheart, see if she can make anything of it." Nodding towards the body, the warrior began to lift the deputy onto his shoulders. He was big enough and strong enough to shoulder the body on his own, but the trek back to camp would be slow and arduous.

Icestar was pacing near the camp's entrance when the two arrived with the body and Martenfur laid Sunstrike down before his leader. He only bowed his head before turning to Blueheart, who was attending to some of the wounded patrol members.

"I think both you and Icestar should see this," he mewed, nodding his head toward the deputy's body. "He doesn't seem to have any fatal wounds, but he sure isn't breathing. I don't know what happened." Martenfur looked back at Icestar, knowing that the death of the deputy must make their leader ache - the two had not only worked well together but had been friends as well. The young warrior could only begin to imagine what losing a friend like this might be like. Glancing over at Sparrowstorm, he hoped his friend shared the same sentiment.

Name; Nightfrost
Gender; she-cat
Age; 16 moons
Rank; warrior
Apprentice; none
Crush; none

Nightfrost looked up as Icestar emerged and dipped her head when he wished her a swift recovery. She turned back to Pebbleheart, rolling her eyes slightly at being called a 'lady' and gave a small wince as he rubbed in the pulp. She gave a short nod at Pebbleheart's words to come and see either him or Blueheart if her shoulder hurt. She started to walk away and realized that the pain had lessened at lot. Although the herbs stung at first it did relieve the wound quite quickly.

She went over to the warriors den and settled down right next to it, yawning. Her belly rumbled and she realized that she was hungry. Nightfrost padded to the fresh kill pile and chose a small thrush. She returned to her spot and plucked off the feathers, before finishing it in a few bites.

Foxfrost
Age: 28 Moons -=- Location: Camp & Forest -=- Tagged: Kage, Icestar, & Dawnflight

Dawnflight was as cheerful as always as she snapped out her reply to the siblings, before padding on. The cat who had introduced himself as Kage and who Dawnflight had indicated with a glance was looking at them and purring, which immediately clued Foxfrost in that something might be off about the newcomer. How many loners walk up to a Clan warrior in unfamiliar territory and purr at them? That, and the fact that his gaze actually made his fur begin standing on end ever so slightly. Probably nothing, but still...

Foxfrost put his tail in front of Dovesong as she made as if to follow the trail further, to Martenfur and Sparrowstorm. He turned his head to meet his gaze and spoke very quietly, "Stay, please." He met her head tilt with a slight glance at the loner, which made understanding dawn in the she-cat's eyes for a split second before her expression was calm once more. The two turned as one to stand at either side of Kage and move forward.

Foxfrost looked at Firestrike, padding along his other side. His mind whirred for a few seconds, thinking and planning. Dawnflight had, once again, made manifest her inclination towards brashness and unthinking action. By leaving Firestrike behind with the loner and pushing ahead, even if the siblings were there, she added an unnecessary risk to the situation. To Foxfrost, leaving a warrior more injured than yourself behind, in the presence of a cat with unknown motives even, was treading a dangerously fine line with the warrior code. He'd keep an eye on the she-cat; she was known to not have the best temper, but enough questionable decisions might merit approaching her or possibly even Sunstrike with his concerns.

A look to his other side brought him the sight of Kage, light brown fur and lithe frame padding alongside him at an even pace. He was uncertain how to take the new loner, but if he had really come to join the Clan then he'd likely find out soon enough. Foxfrost wasn't one to talk to Icestar much, but the leader seemed a fairly relaxed and thoughtful cat. As long as the new tom didn't try anything unintelligent, he'd probably have a place in the Clan. Which meant that someone would have to teach him the territory and the warrior code. Suddenly seeing a flash of those vividly yellow, disconcerting eyes in his mind, Foxfrost shook his head. Hopefully, the cat that would teach him would be one that could handle a challenge.

The camp was close and it was a quick affair to slip inside after Dawnflight, single-file. Foxfrost and Dovesong immediately marched the loner up to the sitting Icestar, Dovesong peeling away to her own business as Foxfrost dipped his head and cleared his throat to address his leader. He kept one eye on Kage as he spoke. "Icestar, this is the loner that the patrol found. He says his name his Kage." He turned to look at Dawnflight, flicking an ear in question. He knew pretty much nothing about the fox attack and the she-cat who was there would probably be the best bet to tell the story, since Firestrike would likely need his wounds seen to first.

Then, of course, all of that was eclipsed by Martenfur and Sparrowstorm's arrival.

((A few RL problems and a lack of muse have been beaten into submission. Please forgive me if post quality is lacking in some parts, this helped me crush my WB as much as much as continued the story.))

Goldenfeather

*Name*
It already says that in the top mouse brain? Or can't you read? Though I'm a pretty fast runner, I'm a feather. I'm calm and keep to myself. I'm gentle with apprentices and kits.
*Gender*
I'm a she-cat!
*Age*
I'm 16 moons, not that old huh?
*Looks*
My pelt color is a bright ginger with darker flecks all over. My eyes are a dark green. I'm small in my size, but I'm usually a pretty fast runner, like I said before.
*Personality*
Like I said before, I'm calm and keep to myself. I'm not that social, but I am gentle and have patience with kits and apprentices. I have a sharp tongue and I'm strong headed. I have a short temper, and do not like to be disturbed when I'm doing something important.
*History*
I was abandoned at the age of three moons in the northern border if LakeClan, near camp. The queens heard my hungry mews and took me in. When they found me, my name was originally Clover, but they named me Goldenkit by my bright pelt. I was always the same, quiet and never social.
*Crush/ Mate/ Kits*
I don't have a crush on any tom, I don't trust any. If I don't have a crush or trust a tom, how do you expect for me to have a mate? If I don't have a mate, then how will I have kits?

Tigerpaw

*Name
My name is Tigerpaw, just to be clear. I was named after my dark tabby pelt. I would like my warrior name to be Tigerstripe due to the dark stripes flowing on my pelt.
*Gender*
I'm a she-cat or have you not noticed?
*Age*
I'm ten moons, almost a warrior, young, but I'm almost to fulfill what I was training so hard for.
*Looks*
I have a muscular built, though I'm a eye-catching. I'm tall and toned. Other cats would think of me of a warrior due to my size. My pelt color is dark brown with jet black stripes along. I have a small white flash on my muzzle with bright green eyes.
*Personality*
I'm outgoing and liked around the cats. I'm calm and laid back, but I'm considered a trouble maker, for I tend to break the rules. I'm adventurous and hunt or wander away from the border to explore outside.
*History*
Normal, I was born into the clan, though some doubt my loyalty...
*Crush/ Mate/ Kits*
Well, um I kinda have a crush on Pebbleheart, though I know its against the warrior code. I don't have a mate mouse brain! I'm an apprentice not a warrior. Eww, I'm too young for kits.

"and if you're in love, then you are the lucky one,
'cause most of us are bitter over someone."

    Image

    --------------------------------------

    the basics

              name ➳ "i'm larkpaw."

name list ➳ basil > larkpaw > larkfrost

nickname(s) ➳ "none. i wouldn't mind being called lark or frost though."

              age ➳ "thirty-two moons, why?"

              gender ➳ "i'm a she-cat."

              rank ➳ "i.. i'm an apprentice."

crush/mate ➳ "i loved a cat once. i bore his kits and in return he attacked me, left me to bleed out alone, and took my two daughters. i will never love again."

              -------------------------------

              white as the snow...

short description ➳ "i have medium length white fur and amber eyes."

full description ➳ larkpaw is an average sized she-cat with moderately thick white fur. she's got amber eyes that truly are the gateway to her sole. if you look into her eyes, you can almost feel what she's feeling. she's got tufted ears and paws. speaking of paws, a main feature of larkpaw is the fact that she's declawed. when she lived with two-legs, they declawed her with the fear that she'd slash open their expensive furniture.

              -------------------------------

i just want a bit of respect...

personality ➳ a reserved she-cat, larkpaw keeps to herself. before the incident with her mate, she was a snobby she-cat who often bragged about her previous life in luxury as a kittypet. now, she rarely talks; and when she does, it's when she has something important to contribute to a conversation. due to the way she was previously betrayed, larkpaw has trust issues and does not form attachments easily. she forces herself to just think of everyone she meets as simply an acquaintance, just in case something happens to them. she's very self-conscious and often analyses other she-cats in the clan, comparing herself to them and finding out what they had that she didn't.

history ➳ adopted into a wealthy two-leg's family, basil was a spoiled she-cat. her every need was attended to. well, that was until her house folk decided to declaw her and adopt a german shepherd. suddenly living in constant torment with no way to defend herself, she escaped. basil was as witty as she was a snob, and already understood that she'd die of starvation because she couldn't hunt. to prevent this, basil tricked many toms into believing that she loved them, and they served nearly her every will; after she had been with one tom for long enough and they were starting to become clingy, she ditched them in the night. this was her means of travel and food for nearly fifteen moons. while not ideal, it did the job and in the end, she had travelled further from her previous home then she had even thought possible. halting her travels, basil met a tom that she truly did love; and she was desperate for him to love her as well. his name was soot. soot was a sarcastic and cynical tom, yet she had fallen madly for him. eventually, she confessed her love for him and he stated that had feelings for her as well. she bore his kits moons later, and that's when her life took a turn around. the day of their birth, soot attacked her. he told her that he never cared for her, and would never care for a she-cat as desperate and useless as her. he left her nearly dead and took their two kits, which she had named (in her head, of course) marigold and bee. luckily enough for her, her wounds healed without getting infected, but she never saw soot or her two precious daughters again. developing a distrust for other loners, basil was lucky enough to find lakeclan. while she wasn't trusted, she was let in. she has no hunting skill whatsoever, so she was ranked as an apprentice and she didn't complain.
              -------------------------------

              Image
              Image
              Image

// is it a problem that she was previously a kittypet? i can change it. may take some effort, but i could change it. also, is the apprentice thing okay? even though she's over the age of one? i just don't think that it would make sense if she was ranked as a warrior when she can't even hunt.
anyway, hey kitty! it's been a while. c:
