Harlequin worked extra hard to prove himself to his grandfather, every day, doing whatever he asked, for the past five years, and now, today was the day, if he did well, he'd earn his last color.

He woke feeling energized, he went to his responsibilities immediately, trying harder than ever to impress, if that was possible. Once his grandfather (maternal gradsire) woke, he was please with how quietly his grand son had completed his responsibilities, he had really worked hard to prove himself the past five years, and he was finally ready for his last color. "Grandson?" he called, Harlequin was by his side nearly immediately, "yes?" he asked, so respectfully, "take a break" he said. Harlequin's mouth dropped open "w-w-w-w-what!?" he asked surprised. "take. a break" his grandfather repeated "o-ok" he said. He wandered over to a stream, not sure what to do, he'd spent his entire life proving himself, what was he supposed to do with a break? was this a test? he decided probably not, took and drink and went back to his chores, but didn't do them so speedily, he took his time and enjoyed himself, half an hour later his grandfather found him. "what are you doing?" he asked curiously, scaring Harlequin out of his skin "well, taking my time and enjoying myself" he said his grandfather nodded. "you are ready" he said, and they walked off, he was about to get his last color, and officially become a Harlequin.
