Does yours ever completely go black for half a second? Repeaedtly? Like with a few seconds inbetween?

I can't say that it does, but it would also depend on what it's doing. Does it go black randomly or maybe durring startup? Durring startup, I have seen that before (not neccesarially windows 8).
Weirdly enough my iPhone does dumb things like that, but that's because the screen is screwed up (not apple-made) and doesnt connect right)
If it is something bad though like BlindHard you said, it would probably be a hardware thing
