If you're a fan of MLP and you design an MLP horse for yourself or for other people to adopt, how do you think of a butt mark and, power and theme?
I haven't made too many MLP characters and the ones I have made, some of them I just couldn't think of what their cutie mark would or should be and what their special talent to coincide with their cutie mark would be. X3 That's always the tough part for me. ^^; Sometimes it takes me awhile to come up with something after I've created the design, so I try to go into the designing process with an idea already in mind.
When I created the Toymaker, I had a tough time deciding what his cutie mark should be since he makes toys, but I decided on a smiling faced teddy bear with a needle and thread streaming from it (I don't have any art of this version of his cutie mark and in his refs it isn't visible). ^^;

Okay, so, I'm making this thing. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them/it yet so please don't messaging me telling me to contact you when I decide. I won't.

The above is what I have actually drawn so far, and the bottom down at the bottom of my post are little sneal peaks, in case you're interested or curious!

Their eyeducts appear to look slightly longer than normal, with tough skin with contains little moisture that deepens towards the nose and back towards the ears. When a -species name here- gets sick, the tough skin contains more moisture than normal, making it appear as if they're almost crying all the time. Though, -species name here-, are in fact capable of crying, and their enhanced intelligence lets them feel and think things almost similar to a human. They may be pets, but most require a lot of training to be accepted around kids and other pets. Warning: Only purchase from a professional breeder, never take one from the wild. They will be hostile during human contact. They communicate through various noises. Varying from almost musical whistles and clicks, to deep almost demonic hisses. Their nose is like that of a Pangolin with sensitive snake like pits along the top of the lip to help determine thermoreception. They also have canine teeth that protrude from the lips. It is very rare that a -species name here-'s teeth don't protrude.

The first image and image differ, yes! If you noticed the black weird stuff on the second image's ears, then goodjob! Their ears are exactly like a Rabbit, except the -gender role here-'s have caracal-like ear tufts.

I would love to develop these more with someone. Preferably someone who can draw and/or write. Or just someone who would like to message me and give me opinions on the species would be great!

I want to show you guys some Kiamara try out art that I just finished making. I'm applying for Maximus in the special re-adoption for him and his mate, my partner is applying for his mate. Anyway, this is the picture:

Anyway, this is only the second time that I've ever drawn a Kiamara and I'm really rather proud of this piece. :3 It's still only traditional, but I'm going to be starting in on making it digital. I had a lot of fun and frustration with the hair, but I think his hair actually turned out rather good. :3 Considering the fact that hair and hairstyles have never been my strong point. X3
It's supposed to be him working as a clerk, but instead of working (it's a slow work day) he's reading a comic. X3 I haven't put the spots on him yet, I may wait to do that when I digitally do it over on GIMP.
I'd love some critique/suggestions on how I could improve the piece or just your thoughts about it. :3

Ah, that really depends if I thought of the design first, or the talent first, in which case I'll design the pony based on that talent.

If I had designed the pony before the talent, then I'd go with figuring out just what would suit her appearance. From here on out though, the terminology I'm going to be using is cutie mark (CM), talent, and appearance of the pone. See, a lot of the design itself comes from the talent and personality of the pony. So say for instance, the pony happens to be a tomboy who likes the outdoors and loves to play football (the international kind where its not called soccer), then she'd most-likely have a more earthy palette of browns and oranges, with a short hair cut and not so feminine figure. She'd have a little bit of muscle to her figure, and probably have smudges of green grass and dirt on her hooves. At this point I think it would be a bit predictable that her CM is in fact a foot ball, but that's been done a hundred times, so why not add in a little bit of pizzazz and have some pieces of grass flying with the ball, give the ball some movement lines and there we go!
