Oakstar looked at all of them, "Sagewind is our new medicine cat and I'm positive that she will succeed in this position. Hawkflight will now become a warrior, however, since she has not trained in the ways of a warrior, she will become an apprentice for a brief period of time to learn the basics of the warrior way. I will be her mentor. Also, in regards to her becoming a warrior, she will have a new name for her new life. Her new name will be Heartpaw and she will relieve her warrior name after she has finished her apprenticeship. Sagewind has also assisted Foxpelt in giving birth to five new kits. That is all." He finished and hopped down from the tree and into his den to think for a bit.

Heartpaw sat outside the apprentices' den, horribly aware that she was much taller than the cats that were sleeping there. She self-consciously licked her paws, glaring at any cat who dared cast a mere glance at her. This is humiliating, she thought to herself, sighing. I don't know how I'll manage this for long...

Tinytail looked around as the other cats started to leave. He slowly walked up the highrock and entered the leaders den. "Uh, Oakstar? Who is gonna be Sagewind's apprentice?" The shy cat asked.

Oakstar stood up and smiled at him, "We don't know yet. StarClan picks the next medicine cat apprentice." He replied and stretched, clearing his mind from troubling thoughts. "Tinypaw, could you please get Heartpaw and come back here. It's nice out, time for a hunting lesson." He stated.

Sagewind over heard tinytails comment and became rigid im not ready for an apprentice... i just became medicine cat. sagewind gulped down trying to get rid of the knot of in her throat.

Lionpaw padded over to Sagewind, "Are you okay?" He murmured and offered her a gentle smile. He sat next to her, back straight, his tail curled neatly over his paws.

Sagewind dlowly turned to him lost in her thoughts. She shook her head snaping back into reality "lionpaw ... " she said still a little tense.

Lionpaw jumped slowly and tilted his head, "Um,mI asked if you were alright." He repeated and returned back to his normal sitting position. He watched her curiously, she seemed tense and worried.

Heartpaw heard her name and turned her head to see Oakstar looking at her. She padded over slowly. "What?" she asked coldly. Heartpaw wasn't used to speaking to Oakstar the way she should. She was still angry and confused about her life and his.

Sagewind smiled at the tom softly meeting his gaze "im fine nothings wrong " she said pursing her lips " everythings perfect im medicine cat,hawk-heartpaw will soon havevthe life she longed for, your going to be a warrior soon, foxpelt had her kits and there all fine, everythings great..." she said failing an attempt to smile.
