Will that work for my Moor? It has white edges, not sure if it's a tear or finrot, but it doesn't look like it's getting worse.

Midnight Tails wrote:Hey guys, what's the best way to heal a tear in a tail?

One of my goldfish (a comet) recently acquired a tear in her tail. It's not ragged or anything, just one long clean tear.
It doesn't seem to be healing by itself, but there's nothing wrong with it or the fish in general either.
It was just torn on a plastic plant that I've been wondering about removing for a while since it is slightly sharp on the edges, although it has caused no damage before this time, and I don't know for certain it was that since I didn't witness the injury.
The tear is at least a week old, more like 1-2 weeks old or more. I only noticed it last week.

I know there's many different ways to heal damage to fins, but I just wanted to hear what everyone considers the best way to heal a tear. :)

Put a bit of aquarium salt in the tank. It will heal really quick(also works for bettas and cichlids)

Keep me updated on it!
My tank has soil on the bottom and then a fine sand as a cap, and I'm pretty sure my lighting is good enough for DHG but I've heard from even experienced aquascapers that it can be hard to grow, so I'm still not sure if I want to try it out. DX
Anyone else have any suggestions? I want to try a foreground plant (that preferably carpets).

Micro swords? Mine did really really well.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

Big water change followed by daily smaller water changes. Use aquarium salt(which I'm not familiar with) or stress coat seems to work well too.
But the clean water is what will help it the most.
And make sure you don't overfeed.

(forgot to mention this earlier)
About a month ago when I got my new 13 gal. freshwater tank I bought 2 two albino cories. When I got home I realized one of them had a missing tail (fin rot). He died that very day, and I wasn't able to make an exchange :(

Do you have pics of yours? ouo I thought about trying those instead because they seem to be easier to grow. Do they stay short? Do they grow fast?

I think one of my bettas, Yiska, is mostly blind in one eye. He can be very unresponsive, unless there is a bright color or a color contrast. When he goes up for a breath, he hits the surface really hard, like he can't tell where it is. He seems to be eating okay and everything, but his eye seems to have glazed over with a milky white pupal. His right eye isn't as milky, but it is still a little glazed over. What do you guys think? Does it sound like he might be blind in one eye?

My rose tails (he's had it since I got him) scales are all pushed up in two thick 'cuts' with white all around it. It's always been that way, since I got him, but it's getting worse now. Also, one of his eyes seems to be pushed out a little bit further and also has white around it when the other doesn't. What is wrong? Help? I do water changes like a should and there is no sharp anything in his tank. Just some silk plants.

he is at least blind in one eye, if not both. don't worry about this just keep him away from other fish and avoid rough or sharp object as he may run into it. I have owned many blind or eyeless fish before so I know from experience.

@Check the PO Box
he may have bloat. I forget how to get rid of it...I think the inside of a pea or something like that XD.
