Speckleddawn winces at Skypool's words, knowing what she was going to say. She leaps to the she-cat, nodding a greeting to her. "That was kind." She mews. "He won't forget it, nor will he ever forgot you." She smiles to her.

Skypool dips her head to the medicine cat. "With time he will," she responded smoothly. "He has Meadowbreeze."

"That doesn't change the fact that he had one of the best deputies a leader could ever ask for." Speckleddawn purrs, trying to make Skypool feel atleast a little better. "You're loyal, brave, kind... and you've been with him for a long time. You earned his trust. That's something I didn't have near my end." She sighs, but blinks kindly to the she-cat.

Skypool shook her head. "I just did as any warrior or deputy would've done. He trusted you, I'm sure!"

Speckleddawn smiles, blinking slowly. "I'd like to believe that, but I won't argue any longer." She sighs. "Come on. StarClan is waiting for us." She mews, turning to guide Skypool back.

Skypool warily followed her. She was still far for believing she was dead, as everything was so alive here.

Speckleddawn notices the wary look on her face. "Don't worry. We'll still be there for them, to guide their paws in their dreams and their hearts. You'll get used to it before too long." She advises, her pace quickening as she leaps up, waiting for Skypool.

Meadowbreeze sighed and fell asleep.

Jackalshadow watched Skypool before sighing, knowing what she was going to say. I loved you, but you only had eyes for Jackdawstar so you never knew.

"Speckleddawn!" Mosspaw prodded her mentor's body with a paw. "You have to get up! Please!" The desperation in her voice was growing with each second that passed and smoke and tears made her eyes sting. "Please..."

Lizardtail dragged himself onto land, but he didn't shake out his fur. No, he knew he had to remain wet for as long as the fire burned on. "Come," he told Tidepaw.
