Two Twolegs talked quietly about the cat problem. One chortled and lit a match then tossed it onto the gasoline covered hay that sat atop the warriors den. It collapsed, flames covering Secretsoul and Jackdawflight.
Willowsweep gasped as it spread. She yowled loud and ran to the nursery, grabbing Gingerkit as Doeheart fled from the flames carrying Coldkit. Wolfhowl helped as his paw caught for but he managed to put it out and look For Horseleap.

Hawksnow yowled for the clan to get out as fast as they possibly could, rushing to Willowsweep, "Run!" He yowled and helped Wolfhowl search the camp for others.

Horseleap screeched in terror and leapt over the flames that seemed to have her closed in a corner. She saw Wolfhowl and rushed to him, her amber eyes wide with fear. She turned toward the nursery, knowing that Coldkit and Skykit would be in there. She saw Sunstorm appear nudging his kits along, but as Horseleap leapt forward to help him, one of the barns beams fell, landing on the Tom and his kits. Suddenly Horseleap felt teeth clasp around her scruff and turned to see the deputy dragging her along. Hawksnow let her go and she rave to Wolfhowl. Hawksnow then raced to Blazestar's den only to find it engulfed in flames. Bolting back to the two mates he shoved the toward the exit hurriedly.
