Meadowbreeze purred and rasped her tongue over each kit, grooming them.

Lizardtail nodded in response. "Of course." He dragged his gaze across the flame-coated forest. "This is bad," he murmured.

Rookkit kneaded Meadowbreeze's belly with his tiny paws.

Skypool ca,e to the pint where she was going in each breath. The deputy was ready to meet StarClan.

Jackdawstar stood up and padded over to Skypool. He lay down beside her, as he knew it wasn't going to be much longer.


Swiftkit mewled and wriggled closer to Meadowbreeze.

Speckleddawn watches the deputy with pity, blinking sadly. She had known how loyal Skypool had been to Jackdawstar, and she pitied both cats for this great loss. She waits patiently to greet Skypool, though she is pained that she cannot do anything to help.
