Hazelstar had sented the air, smelling the mouse as well. She glanced at Mapleheart then nodded before crouching. She slowly crept forward then pounced, killing the mouse quickly. She buried it so they could come back later

She smiled at the leader. "That mouse smells amazing!" she said happily. Mapleheart put her nose to the air, seeking the scent of more prey. "Maybe we should check by the stream?" she suggested. A small stream ran through the forest and past ShadeClan; it was one of the cats' main water sources.

Hazelstar

Heazelstar nodded in agreement. She padded off towards the stream, senting the air as she did. Stopping, she crouched eyeing a small vole. She quietly moved forward but the vole slipped into a hold before her paws touched the ground "Aw well. Can't catch all of them" the leader mewed with a sigh

Mapleheart
She nodded in agreement. "Voles can be tricky to catch," she pointed out. Ears perked, she listened for the sound of scurrying paws. "I think I hear another one," she whispered. Mapleheart angled her head in the direction of the prey.

Hazelstar

Hazelstar nodded walking a little farther down the river letting the warrior catch the vole. She perked her ears trying to scope out any prey. The steam flowed calmly and everything sat still. She sented the air again padded towards were she smelt a mouse.

Mapleheart
Mapleheart crept up to the vole as quietly as she could, with her tail barely brushing the ground. Coiling her muscles, she pounced, her claws landing squarely on the vole. Mapleheart nipped at its neck and picked it up in its jaws. She was about to speak to Hazelstar when she noticed the Clan leader stalking a mouse, so she turned and padded away in search of more prey for the Clan.
