caden was attending university in london. he took the train every day and it was always
the same; the train arrived at the station at seven thirteen and dropped him off at
university at seven fifty eight. he remembered because after world war two the trains
had to make special detours around destroyed areas of the city. what was once a simple
fifteen minute ride had turned into a whopping forty five minute detour, making him
late to classes. the first day of cade's modified schedule to arrived on time to classes
brought him to the station at an earlier time than usual. while waiting for his newly
designated train a commotion erupted on the other side of the building. a cat had
apparently jumped down onto the train tracks and could not find its way back up to the
platform. without thinking it through clearly cade went to it's rescue. he was passing the
kitten off to an older gentleman when a train came rushing out of nowhere. caden timothy
grey was killed instantly on april twentieth, nineteen forty seven. one day before his twenty
fifth birthday. (on the bright side the feline was alright. but needless to say caden hates
cats now.) as fate would have, leighann had in fact possessed the old man cade had given
the kitten to. when caden came back as a ghost leighann took him under his wing and
showed him how to function as a wandering spirit. he was like a new father to cade, as
cade's actual father had been killed in world war two many years before. the two became
inseparable. leighann moving on was devastating to everyone, but to cade especially.
not only did he lose his 'father' he lost a friend. leighann left cade responsible for the
group. at first it was difficult for him, being leader. but cade's understanding and
insightful nature has given him the strength needed to do it. he has since then accepted
his death and strives to help others do the same. (cade has adopted the broken bird
syndrome.) before he moved on leighann was also showing cade the basics of possession,
a skill only leighann was known to effectively use. cade is close to being able to do it
himself now but not without severely hurting himself, as he does not know how to do it
properly. he works on the skill as much as he can.
